Hi, I’m getting a ba and uplift in 6 weeks, and my baby will be 7 months then. Has anyone had the same procedure and has young children who can give me advice on how to look after her without harming my stitches please?
My fiancé has ten days off work after the op which hopefully is enough but then I’ll be on my own, and I live at opposite ends of the county from my family who would have helped. I’ll obviously always pick her up if she needed me to- no matter how much it hurt – but is rather know some ways around it as I’m worried I’ll rip my stiches or something, especially with it being an uplift too. Iv already planned to just stay downstairs for the day until my fiancé gets home from work, and have everything at hand like nappies, bottles, food etc it’s just the general lifting and cuddles that I’ll have to be careful of. I feel so guilty for this and not being able to look after her properly and cuddle her and stuff, I feel so selfish.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips who has done the same thing?
Thanks everyone xxx
Hey huni 3 years ago i had full uplift with implants 1st round and I had 2year old son the 1st few weeks are the more painfull and so implants you try not to do much as this part of the uplift is do important on your scarring to heal you need to make sure you have supper strong sports bra I would recommend Shock Absorber sports bra ultimate run sports bra as this is best one around as it holds your implants up and off your cuts so that’s gives time to heal and will keep the implants in place as they don’t move an inch This Shock Absorber sports bra has been created especially for running, with an enhanced support system to target excessive breast movement and featuring seam-free and concealed elastic to reduce rubbing and chafing. This Shock Absorber running bra has been proven to reduce breast bounce by up to 78% also it’s not easy with little ones so if your going to pick them up keep them very close to your body and lift them from your body rather than your arms xx
Hi hun, I’m 4 days PO after a BA and have a 6 month old. I Didn’t pick her up for the first 2 days but have found that if I hold her low down (not really bending my arms too much) I can get her from a-b quite easily. I get my fiancé to bath her and lift her up high-into her cot etc. I spend most of my time on the floor with her so I can still play with her without hurting myself. Just take it easy for the first week and listen to your body. Utilise all the help you are offered. I’m also wearing a shock absorber and found it to be really supportive. Just allow yourself plenty of rest time. Even bottle feeding puts a bit of pressure on your chest so I’ve avoided feeding her myself unless I’m super supported by cushions and someone puts her on my knee x
Thanks girls. I’ll definitely get a few of those sports bras. I wish I had the op before I had a baby it’s making me dread it! Xxx
Lol your having the op at that time my lovely dani it’s good see your n shock ab sports bra they are best ones around I come cross them 3 years as my works a debhams as bra fitter and with my uplift n implants I was going to get a Macon bra and mum said no chance when I get pre op and post op girls il get them in the shock abs bra as they are strongest around so over the last 3years with my ops I aways use theses and I’ve not come across anything better yet but I’m still on look to do so lol . You will find the 1st 2weeks really bad then everything seems to ease off uplifts are quite painful but not as much as giving birth lol x
I’ve just had a BA (unders) and my daughter was 11 months old, she’s now 12 months and we’ve coped fine, my husband was not off work but my daughter was at childcare anyway in the day and he helped in the evening – my only advice is be strict with yourself, it’s awful missing out on the cuddles etc but don’t do anything for the first week. Make sure you have everything at waist / counter top height so you are not reaching for anything.
I found childbirth easier to be fair, and I had no pain relief – my BA was much harder – so we’re all different I guess 🙂 xx
