hun I was having the same problem,..my op was at highgate and I love in the south and got the train and stayed up night before. I had an overnight stay and came home on train next morn. My pc advised against it but taxi was just so much more expensive and after all the money I had spent it would have been ridiculous.

in my opinion train is no worse than car,..if not better as smoother. Upto you tho,..but u must have someone with you xxx

Was worried about this also. Hoping to be a day case and if I can’t get the train the same day, will stay 1 night in a hotel and get the train the next day. x

hi girls, mya do a service called clubclass, it’s usually just for surgeons but i’m getting it. it’s a chueffer driven ride to the hospital/back home, a taxi basically lol ask your PC about this maybe she’ll be able to sort something out. xx

Hi girls, yeah I heard about this too as my fiance might not get the time off to drop me off and pick me up. Im still pre-op so im not sure if theres a cost involved yet to be honest. i also wouldnt recommend the train hun- its too risky if someone knocks you or the train is full and you have to stand. If theres any way that you can either get a friend to help out with a lift and maybe put towards petrol??? xx

Hey girl you probably really won’t feel like being bounced about on a train the night after your op if anything go for a day case, cos then the local anaesteic is still in so you can’t really feel anything by the morning it has worn off and it’s more painful! x

Hey sweet, I got train from Highgate to Manchester the next morning and it was absolutely fine! If you boyfriend carries your bags and you just concentrate on not being bumped by people then I can’t see why not. My PC said see how you feel, and I felt fine! xx
