OK this will probably be quite long but I was helped so much by reading other peoples stories that I wanted to share mine for all you ladies who are still waiting for DD-day! Stats are 5″4′ aged 22 10st7lb got 380 and 410cc overs.
So I got a phonecall 2 days before my op was due and was told my admission time of 12pm. We drove from Scotland the night before and stayed in a nearby hotel. Got to the hospital at 11.30am my friend came with me too, and signed in, then a lovely man took my bags and showed me to my room. Basically I was just left there for a couple of hours, no-one really lets you know the details of when or what is supposed to be happening, everything seems to be on a need-to-know basis which I’m, not really that keen on, but it doesnt take away from the fact that everyone I met that day was lovely to me and friendly and helpful if I asked about anything. Was seen by the nurse, anaesthetist, and drawn on by Mr Traynor. Didn’t actually get taken down to theatre til about 6pm! And as I hadn’t eaten or drank since 11pm becuase no-one told me I was going to be seen so late I was bloody starving!
The nerves really kick in when you’re lying on the bed about to get the anaesthetic put in, but the staff chat away to you and try to take your mind off it. Think I was only under for 45 mins and when I woke up I think I was chatting rubbish to anyone who would listen, kept getting my words mixed up and crying but smiling at the same time! They wouldnt let me have food for a couple of hours after because when i got up to go to the toilet it made me feel a bit sick and light headed. When I finally got something to eat I was loving it but had to take it slow. And I actually met one of the girls from this forum when I was there so we were chatting away to each other after the op on the phones beside your bed, was so lovely to speak to someone who’s going through the exact same thing as you and she was lovely.
When I was in my room after the op i was super itchy all over for about an hour, apparently the morphine can do that, but I wasnt in any pain at all, that stuff is magic!! Was a bit spaced out just watched TV. Only thing was I couldnt sleep, think I only got about 3 hours over the course of the whole night, but becuase I wasnt that sore it didnt really bother me. My boobs just felt weird, like you can feel the implants pressing on your chest, especially when you stand up, and they are rock solid and pointy. definite Madonna cone boobs but I know from reading peoples stories on here that this will change soon.
I dont want to get anyones hopes up, cos I know its different for everyone, but apart from being a bit emotional after the anaesthetic and from feeling a bit sick I really dont feel like i’m in a lot of pain at all. Got it done on Thurs night and its now Sunday afternoon i get slight twinges cos my chest does feel really tight and weighed down, and have to be careful when moving about, but i can already potter about the house and make food for myself and stuff just have to be really slow about it. Havent even had any painkillers today and feel fine. I dont want to jinx it incase it gets worse but if this is as bad as it gets then I would happily do it again! Breaking my ankle was way more painful!
I got a DD sports bra which they are kind of filling but I reckon they might be more like a D when they settle down but I cant be sure yet, just looking forward to the end result!
Good luck to all you other ladies who are still waiting, hope you found this useful, and thansk to all the ladies who have written stuff before, you really helped me figure stuff out
Charlotte x
