Hi Girls, if you are an afternoon admission when do you get discharged? I’ve seen some girls have their surgery at 9am but not discharged till late at night. My admission is 2pm so just wondered what I’d be looking at, thanks xx

When I had my surgery I was told it’s 3 hours from the time you wake up after general anaesthetic providing you are recovering well. I went down for surgery around 10.20 was back in my room for 11:45 and was discharged at 2:45pm, but I wasn’t sick, managed to eat and drink and get myself dressed x

My admission time was 1pm and I was discharged at 9pm. I was only discharged late due to handover xx

Rule of thumb is 4 hours, but it all depends on yourself how you wake up, if you eat/drink, use the toilet, get yourself up and moving, the sooner you do all that, the sooner you’ll be allowed to go.

My admission was 9am and discharged at 7:45pm. I would have been discharged at 6pm but nobody could get my drains out so hence it got delayed xx

My admission time was 2pm i was taken to theatre at 5.15 was back in my room at 7pm and discharged at 9.30pm. Aslong as you eat, drink, not sick and go for a wee you’ll be a pretty straight forward discharge xx
