i had my ba on thursday morning and it is now sunday morning, each day i wake up it is more and more of a struggle to get out of bed. is this normal? they are a lot sorer than they were from day one. one seems more painful than the other. should it be getting easier as the week goes on? stressed with not having a proper nights sleep
taking my pain killers every 4 hours and dont feel much of a difference just drowsy! xx
i was exactly the same hun!! everyone is different with the pain that they have, and i only started to feel better after about 9-10 days! I was taking as many pain killers as i could and if i could have taken more i would have done! I had loads more pain from one than the other (my left felt like nothing was wrong with it at all) and i was told you have to treat each boob as a separate operation and to expect different from each. bare with it hun cos it’ll all be worth it in the end. All you should really keep an eye on and worry about is the swelling and if you get any puss from the scars. If you are worried remember that you can call and speak to the nurse at any time. Hope you feel better soon! xxxx
Hey hon! I don’t know about the pain, I was quite fortunate and didn’t need any painkillers, but I did find that I got a little stiffer for the first couple of days, the by about day 4/5 everything loosened up and became easier. I found moving around helped as if I sat on my arse for too long everything became stiff! If you’re worried about the pain then don’t forget you can always call them and they can advise what else to do. Hope you feel better soon! Xxx
Hey smason,
Are you sleeping upright at night honey? I’m 10 days post-op now and I was sleeping upright for about 7 nights but the last few nights I’ve lowered my pillows slightly as my acheyness has subsided and I’ve been okay getting out of bed, I’ve been a bit achey but nothing major. I imagine that it’s supposed to get easier as the days go on but you say your pain is getting worse? Have you spoke to your nurse? xxx
thanks a lot that i know i just need to bare with it! i was told by my nurse to sleep up right for 7 days altho by the nurses in the hospital said i could sleep lying down if that was more comfortable but that could cause stretching of the skin around the scars. so i have been sleeping up right for as long as i can but seem to wake up about 5 am with a really sore neck so i just lower my pillows a bit then to ease the pain. i think in the morning for me all pain killers have totally wore of so all i am feeling is sheer pain and i am just scared to move and get out of bed it is just such a struggle, once pain killers have kicked in i am much more easier at getting up and down. im just at my worst in the morning. my swelling isnt as bad as i had expected and even the hospital nurses commented on it the next day saying i wasnt that swolen which was good to hear. but as i said i will just bare with everything and try to be patient. thanks! xx
