All done 1st March South Cheshire Hospital – story and bit of a whinge

All done and feeling much better than expected. Here’s my story….

Coming up to my op date I was quite terrified. I’d been having dreams about boobs for weeks but the night before my op I had a really bizzare dream about being injected with the anaesthetic, it was Vernon Kay who was injecting me lol that was the good bit he he. He gave me the injection but it didn’t work. I told him I needed to go to the toilet before he gave me a second injection and in my dream off I went to the loo. Next thing I know OMG i wake up in bed and i’m actually peeing aaargh! I couldn’t believe it never done that before ever but thats how nervous I was the night before my op. My poor boyfriend was lying next to me with wet underpants how embarassing lol!!!

Anyway on to the op … my admission time was 12.30pm so I arrived on time still feeling really scared. There was nowhere to park at the private hospital so had to pay for parking at the NHS hospital next door. I was shown to my room within about 10mins and shortly after arriving I saw a nurse who took some details then the anaesthatist who was very friendly and finally Dr Aurakzai. By this time it was around 1.30pm and Dr Aurakzai told me he was running late and I was 6th on his list meaning it would be around tea time before I had my op… nightmare. I Told my boyfriend to go at this point rather than wait around all day worrying about me.

I’d had nothing to eat or drink all day so the surgeon told me they would sort something out as I had to wait so long but nobody came with any food or drink in the next hour so I had to buzz a nurse and ask. She said she would go and check for me but never came back. I was left in my room with no updates on what was going on and no water for about 5 hours. I was really thirsty now so at 6 i buzzed a nurse to ask when my op would be. She said around another hour so I waited. Finally just after 8pm they came to take me down after a horrible day of waiting around feeling nervous and a little neglected by the people who were going to be looking after me and very thirsty.

The op itself went fine and the night nurse was excellent I couldn’t fault her she really looked after me and i felt comfortable enough to get a bit of sleep in the night. The anaesthetic had left me feeling wide awake rather than sleepy so I was awake reading most of the night but I was fine. Next morning I had breakfast and medication then had my drains out by around 9.30am. Wasn’t looking forward to the drain bit but it just felt funny it didn’t hurt so again girls no need to worry about this! My boyfriend came to pick me up at 10am but I then had to wait 2 hours for my anti-biotics and pain killers to come from the pharmacy before I could go home!!

All in all my op was a sucess and I was really happy with the surgeon and the night nurse but in general the South Cheshire Hospital did not leave a good impression, I expected better from a private hospital.

My nerves were all unecessary, I haven’t been in too much pain and i’m really pleased with my new assets (i had 380 partial unders think i’m gonna be a 36dd from a b) and so is my boyfriend they’ve made being peed on worth while lol

I don’t know if I saw you or not! What colour hair did you have?!! I had to wait ages for meds too but i am used to waiting. I was first on the list and sometimes surgery takes longer then they think! The nurse did say some people had to stay over night when they wheren’t ment to and i only know cos i asked about you and ashlina! she said she couldn’t tell me more. had i knownt you where waiting so long i would have come visit your room!! xx

I have brown shoulder length hair,I didn’t really see any other patients I was just shut in my room the whole time, maybe I could have gone for a wander but wasn’t sure if I was supposed to! It wasn’t so bad I know sometimes things don’t go to plan and there isn’t much they can do but I think they had maybe booked too many people in for the day because one of the nurses said the list was really long and that it was ridiculous! I just thought I would be done around 3ish and my boyfriend could wait around and see me afterwards but it didn’t work out that way. Main thing is i’m all ok and happy with the results feeling good today just sore when I get up and move about thats all.

I’m okay thanks just home and bored. a bit sore but much better! i think i delayed things hun. its all my fault! lol not really but i was ment to be in at 1:30 and they didnt take me down till after 2pm for surgery so they where delayed before they even began! So you deff wheren’t gonna be done by 3pm!!

main thing is we are all done and on the road to healing! and we had a great surgeon so lets just focus on getting better now!

i am only on ibuprofen and my anti biotics! can’t believe it! last time i was out of my mind on pain killers. feel much btter this time around! xx

Ah so it’s all your fault lol Yeah i agree I shouldn’t moan i’m just glad it all went well and they were definitely worth the wait! Dr Aurakzai is a lovely man. I’m only taking paracetamol and the odd codeine if I need it but not in too much pain at all. I’m bored too it’s tempting to do too much when the pain is not bad but don’t want to go downhill so i’m trying to sit still. Just been reading about your tongue splitting on the other post your nuts lol! xx

I love hearing people’s stories, thanks girls. And it’s bloody brilliant that you seem to be coping without too much pain relief. Every single girl who has had Aurakzai seems to say the same. Bring on 15 March for me!!!

glue is weird will try put a pic up. i had the same surgeon as nic! bra goes on in recovery! xx

Hi Christine, I think the glue is really good very neat looking and you can see the results straight away without having to wait for bandages off. I think the nurse sad there are some dissolvable stitches in too. My bra was put on by the nurses when I got back to my room after recovery. I got a macom front fastening one so it was easy to get on and feels nice and supportive would def recommend them xx

I’ve being having weird dreams too, I dreamed the nurse gave me the anaesthetic but it wouldn’t work and I was still wide awake so in the end I didn’t get my boobs:( hope this doesn’t happen to me on the day haha. Im the 10th of March:D Happy healing nic15 x
