ANNOUNCEMENT for Highfield Hospital Rochdale Patients

The Highfield Hospital Rochdale has kindly requested patients to bring with them a debit or credit card on the day of the procedure. This will be swiped when you visit the hospital and charged only if you decide to have any extra services e.g. additional phone calls or order extra meals for relatives etc…

Thank you for the announcement, I’m there on Wednesday for my op so I will make sure I pack my debit card.

I have one concern however, a few girls have been charged for medication that should be included in with the MYA price, the hospital won’t be taking money off my card for any medication will they?

i handed my card over at the highfield 9 days ago for my op, i didnt have any charges come off, they even sent the invoice seperatley for my hubby’s food without taking it from the card. When we checked out we had the choice of paying it on the card they had or waiting for an invoice. No meds were charged for me xx

If you have any extra charges the hospital should send you an invoice to notify you, they wouldn’t just deduct money from your card without telling you. It’d probably say on the invoice when the payment should be made.

I work for Bupa so have to deal with BMI’s invoicing lol.

So what exactly is included for an overnight stay aside from the op and bed for the night? Just so I know as I don’t think I’ve had any clarification on this. Xx

Hiya petite, i was overnight at Highfield. You get your food and drinks all evening and the next morning and all of your drugs. My hubby stayed and had his tea with me and had the same as me, it cost us £10.20 for his meal of three courses, think it was soup, jacket potato with tuna and some ice cream. All pretty basic but nice enough xxx

You won’t be charged for any medication at the Highfield Hospital. The issue a small number of patients have faced with medication charges are localised to another hospital and is currently being dealt with.

hi i am having a day case in highfield 28th sept im really lookin forward to it but alittle aprehensive … could anyone please tell me what will happen on the day n will i go home like literally straight after surgery? xx

hey i had my surgery on 22 nd june at rochdale, my surgery was at about 10:30am and i went home at about 4pm.. you have to rest after surgery and you have to eat and drink and also have to go to the tpoilet before leaving. just safety checks. they look after you well at this hospital! any worries they will help you with anything and are with u straight away. hope that help! and good luck x
