Hey girls…2nd day post op now but I sent this to a lovely girl in a private message yesterday as she asked about my experience..so posting it here now for anyone interested! I had 260cc in my left and 300cc in my right with Mr Traynor in Preston first trust. Was an empty, slightly drooping a-b cup previously! Will put up a few pics in a bit so just PM me if you want
Hey lovely..just back in my flat all propped up in bed bout to watch lots of trashy telly! I honestly had the best experience.. Arrived at hospital, nice, small & friendly place – really lovely nurses. Shown to nice clean room and then a nurse went over paperwork with me..and gave me the oh so glamarous paper knicks and stockings..then another few nurses in and out just going over the same stuff really. Then I met the anaesthetist who also went over paperwork and checked my breathing etc
Hung around for a couple of hours (lots of jeremy kyle and judge judy ugh lol) and then Mr Traynor came in and double checked implant size, got me to sign a form then drew on my poor little boobies! 45 minute wait and then a nurse came to get me and walk me a few feet down corridor to a smallish room with a hospital bed. They get you to lie on the bed and chitchat away to you..I was feeling surprisingly calm at this point. They will give you some strong painkillers that will suddenly make you feel like you’re totally trollied..perhaps a little tightness in the chest..but not entirely unpleasant sensation (if you’re like me and enjoy a few drinks anyway lol!) Then they get you to squeeze your hand a few time to bring the veins up..and in goes the catheter to the back of the hand. I won’t lie..it’s not a particularly nice sensation and a bit painful (sharp scratch and ache..then feel an ache and stinging up the arm) but then they will put your oxygen mask on and tell you you are off to sleep and within a few secs voila..out like a light.
Next thing I know I am slowly coming round and being wheeled back into my room..was slurring talking absolute jibberish lol the nurses hadn’t a clue what I was saying but told me to stop chattering! I was on a roll! They then helped me back into bed and I was a bit woozy and dopey with a huge smile on my face. Sat there for a while then nurses come in and out to check your blood pressure. Had some tea and toast too. That night they put my bra on and got a nice dinner and more tea and toast before bed. Literally hardly any pain..just a little woozy when standing up to go to the loo..but at most for me it felt like a bad hangover mixed with severe PMS tenderness. Fingers crossed you are as lucky as me in the pain stakes! I know it might sound like hippy garbage but I can honestly say don’t dwell on the anticipation of any pain..breathe deeply and think ’what is pain anyway?’ as it’s over so quickly and the positives certainly outweigh any negatives! Am stiff and tender today but again, nowhere NEAR as bad as I’d worked myself up for.
Sorry for the short novel! But I know sometimes hearing other peoples experiences can calm the nerves. Trust me hun, you are in great hands in a lovely setting. Relax and enjoy the experience..I’m sure you’ve wanted and waited a long time! Any more questions or anything (if you ever want to chat!) just send me a message
and remember to keep me updated about your op!
