I need of your help.
Ive had blonde highlights in my hair for the last 7 years. About 6monts ago I decided to dye my hair red. I did this for a couple months and got fed up and then I dyed it dark brown.
Now I want to go back to blonde again. Ive been into a salon and to they have told me to strip the colour. So ive bought some stripper and done this twice now its a lighter brown and a bit redy ive got to go back to the salon to test the bleach on my hair.
It a nightmare any1 got any advise on how I can make this happen x x
Wow you’re lucky, I was blonde, dyed it brown and wanted to go blonde again and no one would touch it!! Said it could go orange or green!!
If anyone has the answer to this one I’d be very interested because I’d love to go back!
xx
My hairdresser does my friends hair and hers was black!! it’s called a bleach bath, all in the name really, peroxide, bleach leave it all over for however long u need for the results. May take 2 goes and will probs make your hair like straw, but you’ll get results.
Also wash your hair with washing up liquid, it strips the colour. Use lots of conditioner Though xx
My hair is a horrible gingery colour now Its not even a nice ginger it looks like a sick colour. I hope 2 god that the woman in the salon will do something with it 2mro coz I cant stay like this. It looks AWFULL!!! x
If your hair is a light brown now with a red tint then you’ll need a few more bleach baths to get it lighter. Put plenty of aussie 3 minute treatment on ur hair cos it keeps it in good condition and macadamia oil in the little bottle is really good to put on wet hair before blow-drying, you’ll get some of that on eBay probs. Try not to do it all at once though, it’ll keep your hair in better condition.
I was jet-black and stopped dying my hair for 4 months then got it bleach bathed twice with a light brown dye put on top. I kept having light brown as the red tint would show through after a few washes from the bleach bath, I have loads of blonde highlights now and my hair is in good condition would never think it has been stripped. My sister done the opposite to me and went from black to brown in one go and her hair is thin and weak now she regrets not doing it gradually like I did.

I have done exactly the same blonde and red but havent had the guts to change it for months now as the last time I just put a darker blonde on to try and get the red out gradually but it just went brighter wooops xx
Thanks hun its a nightmare. i wish i hadnt messed on with it now. How long wud u say i should wait inbetween each sitting? Want it to be done asap but dont wana ruin my hair x
Leave it 4-5 weeks that’s what I done
There’s some macadamia oil products I use the small bottle it’s £4 on there .. only need a tiny bit aswell x x
What do you use to strip the colour? I have gone a bit too dark x
Thanks cupcake x
Belle I bought one from superdrug called colourb4 extra strength. £11.99 x
Thank you. Will get some this weekend x
Also use head and shoulders it completely strips colour out of your hair, I used it when i wanted to get rid of my red for i could go brunette with lowlights…it works! xx
I had a bleach bath at the salon Belle. Yeah head & shoulders helps strip colour, get the citrus one as that’s even better as lemon and stuff helps with stripping. I also put some olive oil in a cup in the microwave, let it warm up and poured it onto my hair and let it soak in for a few hours. I did this when I dyed my hair to a dark brown after getting it bleach bathed and having a light brown colour put on top. Don’t ask why I went back dark! It soon faded from the bleach tho and I never got that red tint again after when I had light brown put back over it!
Also search for ‘Affinage Eraser’ that helps with colour removal x x
Oh yeah and before u put olive oil in ur hair swill ur hair in hot hot water to open up the hair cuticles so the chances of the colour leaking is better
I’d do that everytime u wash it too xx
Thanks Dolly x
i did exactly the same! but the only hairdresser that would touch it, proper wrecked it, she bleached it twice with the highest % peroxide and left it on far too long and had to cut a load of straggly ends of but my hair was already short so after i had a “salmon” fluffy mess on my head lol.
All i can say is after you’ve bleached it once be super nice to your hair no blowdrying, straightening, over styling, over washing ect use hot oil treatments and keep it well conditioned. Then when you think you can get away with it do some bleach highlights and gradually itl get there.
And i found the best thing to tone down yellow/orange/salmon hair is after you’ve bleached use nice’n’easy ash blonde i think its 102 or 105 (i might be wrong)
good luck xx
