any day case patients recently at highgate?

Im due to go into highgate on the 4th of august as a day case most ppl on here have stayed so i would like to hear from anyone that has been a day case and how it was overall going home and stuff please x

I had my op done on 22nd June in Highgate and stayed as a day case…. my admission time was 12pm and I went down to theatre about 1.30 was back in my room by 2.45 and let out of hospital at 10pm…. I live in cardiff so had to stay in a hotel near by…. (about 5 mins from the hospital we stayed) I couldn’t been let out of hospital at 7pm but my surgeon was doing other ops and I had to wait to be seen by him before they’d let me out…. The pain was bearable and more of an ache than anything…. but I didn’t get much sleep as I was so uncomfortable sleeping upright…. other than that everything was ok.

Hiya thank you that helps loads. When u say u went back to ur room did u get ur own room coz my mate was a day case at transform and she didnt get a room at all? x

Hey Hun, i went highgate on 1st June as a daycase. My admission time was 7:30 and i was second on the list. I went to my room around 8:00. I cannot say i bad thing about the staff there, they were all lovely!! The nurse i even got a cuddle & kiss from as i was leaving. I went down to theatre 9:10 and was back by 10 to 10. I had lovely food which i got to speak to the chef and order over the phone haha and the blacks ice cream is to die for!!

We do get a room of our own yeah, its because MYA have their own hospitals, Transform only have a section of a hospital or something along them lines xx

I am doing the same in September… what hotel did you stay in and how much was it?

Hey I went on the 24th July. I got there at 7.30 and I was given a room for the day which my boyfriend was allowed to come into too which was nice! There was plenty to watch on tv! I went in for my op about 11 was out by 12 and then was discharged about 4.30pm!

It was all fine, everyone is lovely and there is absolutely nothing to be worried about! I hope this helps xx

I stayed in the Winchester House Hotel…. It was £70 for a double room and about 5 mins drive from the hospital but parking was a nightmare…. we did get parked after about 15 mins of driving round in circles….. The hotel wasn’t the best…. but i didn’t mind as I only slept there and left to come home first thing in the morning…. the hotel has got a website if u wanted to have a look at it….
