Any of you girls been sick after your ops? Coz that's all I'm scared of.

Sounds silly but I’m terrified of vomiting!

I don’t mind the needles, or the pain or anything but I’m scared to death of vomit, it’s my biggest fear ever and it’s putting me off having the op thinking I might get ill

No….i wasn’t sick and didn’t feel sick at all. I felt very grotty after, bloated and rubbish because i couldn’t shower. I think the tablets they give you make you feel a bit queasy maybe but just don’t take as many if they do. You’ll be fine xx

If you feel sick afterwards then ask them for an anti sickness tablet…i did that after being sick a few times and they really do work xx

Chloe I was sick 6 hours after I got home. It was approx 12am yeah in the morning! lol. I had just taken my final dose of everything (painkillers etc etc). I felt it straight away. Something wasnt agreeing. B/f said I looked really white. So went to the bathroom and held onto my boobs.

Really it wasn’t sore. Your body knows that your already in pain and tries to be sick as gently as possible. Haha you think im jokin! It’s amazing how your body responds.

It’s usually the G.A that makes you feel sick afterwards but some people dont feel sick at all. Just your luck Mrs.

Don’t worry about being sick, it’s totally natural. Your body is just reacting to the trauma.

Thanks for your answers I guess it just depends on the individual then. I think I will explain at my consultation how scared I am and see what they recommend. Hopefully they will give me the anti sickness tablets and they will work for me, fingers crossed. Of all the things I could be scared of and it’s sick, how silly!

Its not silly hun – i have a friend who has a fear of vomiting…its actually quite common! Just tell them at your consultation how you feel – i’m sure you will be fine xx

hey hun, i also have a vomitting phobia, i cant bear the thought of being sick or ppl around me being sick, i have to wear a mask (a surgical one) if my kids get a sickness bug

i wasnt sick after my op but the antibiotics can make u FEEL sick but ur not actually sick, i was absolutely fine after the GA and antibiotics, just keep telling urself that ur fine n not guna be sick cuz i think mind over matter makes it so much worse. u could always request anti sickness drugs before ur op hun if thats an option, just tell them u tend to get really sick after a GA and they maybe able to give u sumthin xx im sure u will be absolutely fine hunni try not to worry xx

everytime i stood up when i was at the hospital i suddenly got really hot and my head was pouring with sweat and i was sick a few times and felt like i was going to pass out xx

Chloe your not alone on this!!! I am the same.. i have to put my hands over my ears and close my eyes when i am sick!

As for being sick after the surgery… well i think i am fearing that more than the whole procedure lmao!! i wont be thinking off just being sliced open or something put inside me stitched up etc… i will be thinking of THROWING UP!!! crazy thoughts eh!

i have seen PC.. but not met surgeon yet, BUT i have booked BA for 27th July at Highgate with Adamo.. its ages away.. xx
