I always wake up at 3am with pain right around my chest and back, like I’m being crushed. I’ve tried lying flat, tried lying elevated, nothing seems to stop it. So I always get up for half an hour till its gone and then go back to bed. And it’s only a matter of a couple of hours later that it happens again. Yet if I sleep during the day it doesn’t seem to happen. x

Give yourself time, you’ve been through qhuite a major surgery and your body needs the energy for healing.

Just eat well and rest when you need to x

Thanks Ros! I’ve just had a whopping salad sandwich and a HUGE bit of cake (don’t think that’s quite what you meant by eating well) and I’m off to bed now for a lovely afternoon nap. x

That’s far too healthy a meal! lol

I think you need the calories whilst healing, i know i did, ate like a horse and didn’t gain a thing!

Glad I’m not the only one then. I’m one week post op now and feel like I’m not making much progress at all. There’s no way I’d be able to drive either. Get my strapping off today, yay!! Hopefully that will make me feel less restricted and more human. x

To be honest, the strapping has only just started bothering me. I have been quite thankful for the support its given me and its been easier to have a bath without worrying about getting scars wet – double protection. But definately ready to get it all off now and seem them in full. Then I’m going to get fake tanned up to the hilt, get my nails done, go out shopping for tight tshirts! x
