Thanks, very helpful. Got my shopping list with v pillow on it. I’ll get some lotion too for post op, but which do you think is the best one to get for stretch marks? And should I be moisturising now? xx

yeah I did, but not allowed to use it 24 hours before.

I got cocoa butter anti stretch mark- has a pregnant lady on the front! and of course bio oil- I knwo some ladies used other types and I remeber one girl going on about eating manuka honey! :)

MY SURgeon swears by bio oil, she said use it religiously.

take something to read as you are likely to be waiting a long time, i down loaded comedies onto itv player and took my laptop as there wasn’t much on tv.

make sure you have really comfy clothes for the way home that you can put on easily

start taking laxatives as soon as your discharged from hospital, believe me you’ll need them..

arnica is natural and can help reduce the bruising, check with your nurse but it doesn’t thin the blood so you should be ok

eat plenty of fruit and veg and drink plenty of water to help you heal afterwards

make sure any wipes you buy are antiseptic to ensure that you are as clean as you can be to prevent infection, tesco do good ones for £1.99

Charles Wothington do a good dry shampoo spray in tesco for £1.99, takes away the dirty hair look, gives it volume so you can tie it up for a few more days whilst you can’t shower. Not ideal but better than getting your strapping wet. xx

So some of it post op, but good to be prepared x

Blondie this is gonna sound stupid, but where are the antiseptic wipes in Tesco? I couldn’t find them anywhere when I went before my op! Ended up getting baby wipes but id prefer antiseptic ones – going Glastonbury in a few weeks too so could do with them for that too! Xx

George.. i’ve stuck it on the bible thread with some extras x

Claire .. they were in the section of the personal care bit near the pharmacy next to the antibacterial hand gels that you carry in your handbag, they are brilliant and don’t smell like baby wipes and in a resealable pack! I’ve been using them after putting on make up and before touching my boobs at all to make sure that i’m not putting germs anywhere near them.
