any single mums? How did u cope post op with children with no help :(

Im a bit worried as my family will help wen can but my sis will be heavily pregnant and my mum and dad will be having to work as usual his dad is usual and doesnt help only wen suits and im not telling him about my op anyway as he will only moan lol . Any advice i was thinking of moving in to my mums for the week as they have spare room but they will still be at work in daytime so not sure where i will be off ? any advice much appreciated i havent really got anyone to ask to help me as im not in a realtionship or anything at min and my op is 21st december so everyone will be busy with xmas n their own familes im hoping i will be able to manage and not in too much pain , my son is 5 in nov so he can understand to a certain degree x

You will need support honey just in case you are layed up for a while,you may not be,but you will still have meals to prepare for your little one and you shouldnt really be moving your arms,the plus side is he is not a baby so you dont need to pick him up,I think perhaps your mums would be the better option because they will be there after they finish work to help with your son.xxx

Hi Hun, your be okay I have a 18month and a 6 month and had ba on wed and I am able to do everything alone just have to get someone to lift 18month in his cot at night! I went in panic mode like you, but all seems to fit into place xxx

@sophb88 thats reasurring to know as i’ll be alone after my op aswell with 3 kidies, youngest being 6mths to look after! @staclew1985 Prob be good idea to stock the freezer up too then minimal cooking to be done for 1st few wks x x

im gonna be on my own too babe so glad u posted this… i have a 5 year old and live cambridge way and all my family live 3 hours away in manchester and are on hols when i get mine done xxxx

My 5 year old wasn’t a problem, she didn’t need lifting and understood mummy had sore “shoulders” I am on my own, but they were with their dad for a week, I would say first few days especially you will need some help around.

Get yourself all prepared before the op hun,XXXX

i will but have no one here!!! it was the same when i had my c-sec… had to lie to hospital and say i had someone otherwise they wudnt of let me go home after the 3 days xxx

ill pretty much be on my own with my baby 6 months and my 9 yr old, who needs taking to school? im having my op 3 weeks yest, its a friday, so ill have daddy at home sat/sun and then my mum monday, then its just me, hope im over the worst of it,, had two c-sections and managed well, ill be fingers crossed! xx

tina it was awful… cos my bump was so big it didnt go down for ages and put more pressure on my wound and cud barely walk at all… those weeks were very hard but had no choice just had to cope so im hoping i will be ok. jen im sure we will be fine ,……….. i hope lol. i guess we wont know until we know how much pain we will be in haha x

Hi girls I’m 3 days post op with a 6 mth & 6 yr old. I really wasn’t looking 4 wrd 2 the recovery. I was dreading not being able to look after them, especially my little baby.

I have had my husband @ home & he has helped, but it’s not half as bad as I thought it would be! I can get up & about & am feeling ok just bit achy & tired. I have been doing little bits, but am also resting. The only I can’t do is pick my baby up which I’m really missing

Try not 2 worry girls, just get urself we prepared & u will be fine

The forum is here for you girls going it alone,youll have your PC number and your nurse,I think you are so wise susielicious making sure everything is at waist level so you dont have to stretch.xxx

Ur welcome Hun, I’ve found my 6 yr old 2 be a great help! He like being a little nurse haha, I wish I would of made & froze some food like spag bol, soups ect Xxxx

Thanks guys i have had a chat with my mum and im gonna go to her house and were gonna move some toys and stuff for jack to her spare room before my op and get the house ready for xmas morning at mine. my op is 21st december mum is gonna make my son packed lunch before she goes work and she will be bk by 6 to give him dinner im really lucky they are very supportive family . i will hate living with my parents hahah but we will all go back to my house xmas morning with the kids and im hoping to stay at my own house xmas night deending on how im recovering so a lot planning and being busy before my op then hopefully i can chill out over xmas hehe xxx
