I’m not sure whether to tell my bosses the truth about why I”m taking leave and I’m scared to go back to work after incase they all notice (along with all of the locals who know me well!!) Any advice please girls xxxx

I own pubs, and didn’t tell anyone, apart from my partner. They all found out afterwards, as it took me ages to heal and the excuses of tax returns ran short, plus they saw my band and how I couldn’t do normal things. Everyone has been supportive, the locals all wanted a feel, now they just stare. Only thing I found really difficult for weeks on end was hand pull’s xx

How long was it until you could return to work? What about lifting plates? Xx

I was back fully after four weeks, it just niggled pulling hand pulls, but I suffered horribly after my op, took me 13 weeks to stop needing a nap during the day and being in bed by 10!

I went down to carrying two plates at a time, and would only carry or do anything I could, anything and everything else was deligated, my fella has been fantastic though, he would drop anything to make sure I was ok xx

I was off for three weeks & when I went back everyone was really helpful & kept making sure I was okay..

my boss was brilliant, i booked three weeks off & at the end of my first shift back she sat down with me and asked how I’d got on & if I felt i was able to come back tomorrow…so it was a kind of trial to see if I was okay…(not sure im explaining that very well..)

but you should suggest that to your boss? xxx

It’s probably worth me telling her…i’m just scared of her reaction, her husband is the chef and he’s been like a father to me, not sure how he’d take it either – guess it’s worth a go though! I might try to suggest that too, thank you :) xxx

i work in a pub, and i told my boss he was fine with it…then asked if i will be getting them out in work. Loads of girls in our work have had them done. Told him i needed 2 weeks off and it wasnt a problem :)

in reply to his question i said “no shut up” x
