anyone had this that rides horses??? and what about other bouncing……???;-)

i am getting very stressed about how long i have to b a chouch potato for i ride and compete? do i realy need 6 week off? how long untill you can do narmal routine and is it just avoiding upper body work and bouncin.

I was only just allowed to start riding again now after 3 months. If your horse pulls or you have a fall that stretches your muscle, you could cause a lot of damage. I know girls who ride for a living that went back after 6 weeks with express permission from their surgeon, otherwise i wouldn’t risk it. I’ve had a friend keeping my mare in work for me while i’ve been off. Missed all the summer shows

Ps when you start again make sure you have a good sports bra, you’d be amazed how much they bounce. At first i could only walk or canter, no trot as i was afraid they’d fall off lol!! Most other exercises you can start again at 6 weeks unless really high impact xx

well im a 30e/32dd now so already wear 2 sport bra to strap them under me arm somewere. i ride professionaly as well as hobby. i realy cant take 2 month let alone 3 i was hoping to do it after 5 but if i have to weight 6 i will for my money sake. but my boys dont pull they are very good and will just be doing light work dont trust anyone to ride them.was going to plan my op for end of eventing season so tehy can have a 2 month holz b4 winter so no heavy lifting either. how quickly were you doing the usual stuff except riding.

Mr. K said I was fine to do non heavy yard work and grooming after a week so long ad i wasn’t stretching (brushing the back and mane and saddling up were the worst). Mine doesn’t pull either but he was very insistent so i stuck with his advice. Didn’t say anything about lungeing so i just left that till i felt comfortable at around 6 we eks x
