Anyone know when the dissolvable stitches dissolve!?

I’m 15 days post op- now that the dressings are off I can see the stitches so when do they dissolve and how does that work? Do they just disappear one day?

I am the same I am 3weeks post op and I can still see my stitches.and they still sting like mad.

Really Elizabeth9 Can you add me? They feel really tight? Immtaking no pain killers so I feel everything and I’m dying to know what to expect!!!!!!

Yeah no probs mines are thight also some days they are soft and some days there hard again.there very weird at the moment.I feel like the implants are gona rip right of the stitches.when they are hard.I don’t even know if my stitches are closed properly.my stitches feel like they did at the first week I had them done.they even look the same.not sure if that’s normal xxxxx

hi girls, im around the same stage as u guys in my recovery (16 days) and hv exactly the same tightness etc, feel like ive gone back to the 1st week again as my 2cnd week i felt sooo much better!! i dont know if u guys just had BA’s or uplifts aswell (i had both) but i saw my surgeon on fri and he said its really normal to feel like this at the 2/3 week stage (he gave me a long explantion why as well but i cant remember it all lol, sorry) i find the mornings the worst!! getting out of bed i feel like theyre gonna drop off! and my tightness comes and goes all day! along with the hardness! nice to know im not on my own, oh and i also have the incessant stinging!! he said it should start easing up again over next few weeks..just gotta bear with it, ive found taking ibuprofen and paracetamol together quite helpful! xx

Oh my god your in my body lol. That’s the very same as me. I have problems also I couldent put it better my self. I had Just. Ba Oh god when is it gona get better. I like you feel Like I was run over with a bus every morning. Like u also and very bad stings and shocks. My back is killing me.I could go on and on just like the first week. LOL do you girls get you stitches wet now when taking a bath I do I hope that’s ok.

I had implant and uplift. Very small implants. You two are describing my body! Tight, hard then ok and my back is killing me too!!!! The stitches look fresh like they will never disappear. I had first shower this morning and my waterproof plaster fell off ! All so precarious x

my only visible stitches now are a few aroundmy nipple which are kind of working their way out, i got the OK to have showers again from my dr on friday so ive been getting them wet, but i kind of pat them dry afterwards, with me its the stinging thats driving me mad the most, almost like when youve got a paper cut on your finger and u eat a packet of salt and vinegar crisps if that mks sense lol, im constantly pulling at my bra aswell and peering down it to mk sure the pad things i put over my nipples (to protect them a bit and stop them rubbing) are still in place lol! quite a sight im sure when im stood in the middle of tesco;-) ahh nice to know were all in this together, im off on hols next sat and just hoping i get a bit of relief by then!!! xx

hey anchovie im nearly 7wks post op now.. had my 6week chek last week & i too had lots of visible stitches but also a little wound had opened up. apparently this can happen if it makes its way to the surface without disolving. but anyway the nurse jus takes them out.. said it was perfectly normal they dnt always completely disolve so dnt worry. wer the wound has opened the stich was took out and a dresing put back over it xx u can hardly feel them bein removed either espesh if ur stil numb.

As far as I know, the stitches only dissolve internally so anything left on the out side just needs to be taken out or trimmed. Don’t worry it’s all normal xx
