Anyone on Dianette contraceptive pill?

Hi Ladies,

Is anyone else on this pill and were you told to come off it before your op? I am so worried because I am not just using it as contraceptive I am on it for adult acne and if I come off it i’m going to get REALLY spotty, and I don’t mean small pimples I mean massive blind spots like boils but without the puss if you get what I mean (yuk)!! I know in the back of my mind I think I am going to have to come off it but it takes ages for it to get back in your system and its my 30th b’day on Dec 1st and I am terrified of looking like the bloody elephant man in drag on my birthday 😥 xxx

I think you will have to come off it yes hun. But apart from that, i would be careful on that pill anyway, i fell pregnant on it! And i was taking it properley. I was also on it for my skin, which seemed to have cleared itself up once i stopped taking it xxx

I think you have to come off it because of the risk of dvt hun. Plus antibiotics they give you post op make the pill ineffective xx

Im on dianette hun, I came off for 2 weeks b4 and 2 weeks after and never got a break out at all xx

I have come off it, well I didn’t start taking it again after my period break, I kinda knew it was one of the worst pills to be on for DVT, my doctor has been reluctant to keep giving it to me as I have been on it for well over 5 years now, but I insisted due to the spots so he’s pretty much given up on me I think. I am however now getting a bloody spot just above my lip grrrrrr, prob’s more to so with stress tbh, it’s not massive but still a bloody spot, damn things!!!!! so pissed off!!! 👿 xxx

DVT is Deep Vein Thrombosis meaning blood clot xx

I’m in that one too, have you tried using duac cream hun? I had to come off the pill for a bit so started using duac a couple months before and it kept my skin clear. It’s really good stuff, you have to get it from doctors tho xx

Hi mercedesxx, I have had Duac before is really good! Only on prescription though isn’t it? Trouble is my Dr’s is 45 miles away!!! I moved house and didn’t dare change until nearer my op as they contact your Dr don’t they, and I knew knowing my luck they would lose my paperwork etc! So I am pretty much stuffed xxx
