Has anyone opted for the overnight stay? My pc said it was £400 extra and I’m wondering if it is worth it as competitors offer it as standard… X x

I wanted mine doing as soon as possible, the earliest was 23rd May as an overnight, for the extra £400, or have it as a day case on 24th. Part of me thought it would be better for peace of mind by staying in overnight, the other part of me thought it would be better being at home in my own surroundings and not bored…I’ve opted for the day case x

If you are just having a BA then do a day case hun cos if you are not well enough to go home they will keep you in for free anyway so why pay an extra £400?! X

I wasn’t given the option :/ pc said the hospitals are too far away to travel back the same day as op so it has to b an overnight! X

Would they not let you get a hotel close by? That’s what alot of girls do as its much cheaper x

I’m gonna get my partner to book a night in a hotel close by. I know a few people have said they let people stay with you if you ask but to be honest I’ll be drugged up on morphine and I want to sleep well that night without worrying about him sleeping in a chair. Also I know from working in healthcare when family members stay over they do get in the way so I dont want to be worrying about that either!! I’d rather he went and got a good night sleep too so he can look after me when we get home but that he is close enough to get to me quick if anything (god forbid!) happened.

I opted for a day case and booked a near by travel lodge for £29 to stay in the night of my op but I was too ill and had to stay in the hospital anyway and didnt have to pay extra! it was lively as I was given a sleeping pill so had a lovely night sleep an my bd it a nice sleep in the hotel then picked me up to drive home the next morning cx

I had to pay £500? Does it change depending which

    hospital you stay at?

Mines in London & I’m having to get train from Manchester

in my own then my boyfriends picking me up next morning.

Figured I was in the best place if I stayed at the hospital!

Seems expensive but when I’ve forked out £4000 anyway,

thought i might aswell do it properly xx

Ive decided on a day case. Going to book a hotel nearby. Seems steep to pay £400 when they will keep you in for free if they think its necessary.

However, if Im not unwell, but just really tired and dont want to leave…will they let me stay?? Obv Id accept that Id be charged in that case. xx

To be honest hun I was ok to go, was just a bit dizzy and tired and they told me I could stay for free if I wanted. Would have loved to but my boyfriend had been with me all day and had been waiting around for a good 12 hours do felt bad on him if I’d stayed and I went home. Every hospital is different though x
