anyone post op with a baby under 1 to look after???????

Hiya,

Im so excited to get my new boobs 2 weeks today but abit nervous about recovery, especially as im going under the muscle. Ive been advised that i cant pick my baby up for 6 weeks, which is sooooo not practical!!! Ive got cover for first two weeks then back at work so wont be handling her as much but just wondered how you other newbies with babies are coping with the small everyday tasks like picking them out of the cot and feeding? lol!

hi hun im slightly diff as i didnt have implants just uplift, so i was able to pick my baby up (11 months old) about 4 days after op, but only arms stretched out, didnt hold him close, and if i did lift him it would only be literally up and down like out the cot, down the stairs, ect. i just didnt hold him close to me. i still cant now and i am nearly 3 weeks po. however i know implants are different and if they have specifically told u 6 weeks u will really have to try you hardest not to pick her up! how old is she? luckily my son crawls everywhere so i could just lift him and the put him down to follow me. only thing i was dying to give him cuddles but couldnt!!!

its great u have cover for the first two weeks tho just heal and relax and rest xx

Hello I’m 8wks post op n have a one yr old n 2 yrs old to look after after my op so older thanks urs. But I had help for the first 2ish wks too n I had 340unders. How old is ur little one? Is she/he walking? For me personally I didn’t have any pain just discomfort n tightness like when ur milk is in. Was really tired the first few days while on the muscle relaxants n slept in the day. Ur’ll just have to take things slowly, ease urself back in to doing things again. I found when I had my check up n the dressing came off I felt so much better. Can mine had dropped by then n it was almost holding them up

As for feeding do u have a little chair she/he could sit on so u could maybe sit on the floor n feed, that way u wont have to lift in the highchair. Sorry this is prob not a great deal of help to u but wanted to let u know anyway. Xxx

Shes 8 and half months so crawling everywhere and pulling herself up all the time so at least shes mobile.. like you say jodes shes very clingy so will miss the cuddles It will be worth it though i know and i will get my hubby to get her out of the cot each morning.. its the cuddles i will miss! I was thinking of having her propped up to take her milk as she can hold her bottle pretty well. Its nap time im gonna struggle with as she likes a cuddle to sleep.. eek! At least i have cover for first two weeks! xxx

Just remembered after two wks I held my girls on my lap with a pillow in-between me n them for cuddles. I hated not being able to cuddle them but when I was two weeks it seemed to fly by n then I was doing everyday things with them again xxx

ah thank you gnats…. i can cope with 2 weeks total rest to give my scars time to heal properly but loving the pillow idea Thank you that has cheered me right up!!

ive got a four and a half month old,i have mine begining of october im having an uplift and implants, my surgeon said take it easy for two weeks and if i feel upto it lift things just be careful,youll know your limits hunni but try not to worry you will adapt xx

awww bless. i definatley miss giving him a squeeze. but like gnat said, i do sit him on my lap still and sort of cuddle round him making sure he isnt leaning on my boobs.i think it was about day 4 my first day alone with him and he wanted a cuddle all day and i couldnt! was awful, so as soon as my partner came home i told him to give him a big cuddle, and he didnt want one off his dad he wanted one off me! thats the killer but you work round it and find other ways to keep him happy. he also stands in front of me and il kneel down and cuddle him whilst hes standing up. u will be fine it is all worth it xxxx

im in same day pink, Max will be 7 months and iv got help for a week at the most, im just hoping for the best, if i really cant manage, then im sure my parents will take time off or my fella, max is only just sitting up, ill getb his dad to bring him down stairs in morn and we will just chill on floor/sofa, iv got a nine yr old too but sje will be back at school, if im totally stuck ill kepp her off, coz she’s a massive help, hoping it wont come to that, iv had two c-sections and was out of bed same day, bounced back to my tasks, fingers crossed ay pink ) xx

I have a 6month and 19 month 9days post op and I been coping x

I have my op in Ocotober and my little boy will have just turned 2 by then. He is also very clingy to me and so i am also worried about the healing process in the first few weeks! My bf is taking the first week off work so he can get up with Jamie and look after him but i will just have to live in my bedroom for a week cus if Jamie sees me, he will just want to jump on me all the time! xx
