    Hi!

I have just been told that the finance is accepted but the Direct Debit must come from my boyfriend’s account! Really gutted by this.

It was hard enough asking him to be guarantor theres no way he’ll do this for me. He has his mortgage and bills coming out if his account. I have the largest disposable income out of the 2 of us! We both have professional jobs. Its too much to ask of him when he has budgeted all his bills accordingly.

Looks like im going to have to leave the boob dream behind!

    ABSOLUTELY GUTTED!

aww hun, is there no way you can set up a standing order to go into his account each month so that the money is there when it is due to be taken out? xx

That’s a great idea, you can just transfer the money into his account monthly that way he’s just playing the middle man. X

If they are prepared to make me do that then why cant they just have the money from my account??

Hes been too good to me through all this offering too be guarantor, having FML go through all his personal finaces but to ask that is too much I think!

    Very sad times! :-(

I know its frustrating hun but as he is guarentor it will fall on him if the payments are not met…if you set up a standing order to go into his account from your account say a week before the direct debit is due then the money will always be there when FML come to take it and your boyfriends money won’t be touched…have a word with him hun, it would be a shame to come this far and not get your boobies…xx

Why dont you set it all up with you sending money across, then after a month or 2 tell them u have changed your bank account, then set it up to come from yours, theirs always a way.xx

Hi LCS3 We understand the position that you are in, with your partner already becoming your joint; it is a lot to ask to have the direct debit to come from his account also. It is not uncommon for First Medical Loans to ask for the direct debit to come from the joint applicant’s account. Typically they will request the repayments to come from the account that that has a greater availability of funds and therefore a better chance of repayment. For example if your repayments were £250ppm, you were earning £1000, and have outgoings of £750, and your joint earns £1000, with £600 outgoings.. they would ask for the direct debit to come from the joint’s account as there is a greater availability of funds in this account, with a better chance of repayment.

Without looking into your case in more detail we wouldn’t be able to advise whether we can change the decision. If you could e-mail your details to info@mya.co.uk, we will take a look at your application & see if there’s anything that we can do.
