After i saw you had written this i went and had a look, alot of people seem to say the cheaper ones are rupturing! I’m going to go for the allergan inspira ones which i was going to anyway as they have the lifetime gaurantee. I think it will be worth the extra money for piece of mind. I went for my consultation today and now after seeing this i’m concerned why they said the cheaper ones have a 0.4% rupture rate – the same as the more expensive implants – when so many seem to rupture. Maybe i’m wrong and they are talking about a dfferent implant type to what MYA use, but if not, why if they have your best interests and health in mind are they not highly recommending the Inspira range?? They weren’t trying very hard for me to have those, is this because they don’t buy these in bulk and therefore won’t get as much profit?? It makes me confused about who to go to…what company can you really trust? I went to the hospital group and the consultation, maybe wasn’t as thorough but they were more into the better implants, which they highly recommended because of the lifetime garantee and being less likely to rupture.
MYA use Allergan CUI as standard. I was told they are still one of the safest implants you can have. Yhe CUI have a 10 year manufacture guarantee, but they can last upto 15 years. This is almost the same life expectancy as the inspira range. If you get the inspira inplant these would also need changed at some point, its just that inspira give you either free implants or
thanks for that post Lizzie, I was starting to worry after reading this thread!! But now I have read your post I feel alot better!! I am having my op with MYA on 23rd feb, using the CUI standards!
xx
l also forgot to mention the CUI’s that MYA use are FDA approved. I know that some well known UK BA companies use implants that are not FDA approved, but this is not the case with MYA. If MYA had any doubts about these implants they wouldn’t give you a 5 year after care and the manufactures wouldn’t give them a 10 year guarantee. MYA have a very good reputation and they can be trusted!!!! xx
Oh my god, i feel so naive ive never even thought about rupturing but reading all these comments im still going for CUI`s with Mya, think im going to do a little bit of research in the different types of implant. My experience with MYA so far ahs been great i feel realy relaxed and at ease every time i go into MYA in Newcastle, Angela and Lisha are absolutely great and when i had my consultation with Dr Traynor he was very professional and seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. Thankyou for putting this info on Lizzie its been very helpful to naive people like me, ha ha. x x x x x
I started to read this thread and others about implant types last night on this forum and so fem, and I couldn’t sleep I was worrying so much. I decided last night that I was going to pay the extra for the inspira range once I talked to my surgeon about the CUI’s next week, however I am stretching myself as it is and was worrying where I can get the extra money from, along with should I cancel and save up for another date etc.
Your input Lizzie has put my mind at rest. With that I’m thinking the CUI’s will be just fine, and on my next consultation I am going to find out more, and reseach more about the diff implants in the meantime.
Gosh its such a scary decision, my emotions are up and down constantly. x
Thanks Lizzie, i’ve been worrying all last night, thinking where am i going to have this done. I am a worrier anyway and look into things too much, thank you for putting my mind at ease about MYA! I just don’t want anything going wrong and ruining myself! It’s such a big decision who to go to anyway i want to get it right! xx
Hi girls, i’m sure that MYA would not use the Allergan CUI implants if there was a problem with them, after all it is their reputation they would be ruining!
I had the CUI implants in August 2009 on the recommendation of Mr Adamo, and they are fine. They have a 10 year guarantee, but can last a lot longer, and i for one are not planning on having another ba for a very long time! Love my new boobies xx
Hey girls, your welcome!
Lisha from the Newcastle clinc, told me that she was having the standard CUI implants. So if someone who works for MYA who knows all about the different implants that are available is happy to have the CUI implants, surely that is reassuring, that they are just as safe as the inspira range.
You are all gonig to be fine. Enjoy your BA experience and stop worrying!!! xx
personally, i wouldnt waste your money on the so called “better implants”
they arent FDA approved but isnt that just because the FDA is in america, and this is the UK? or something like that. its not because theyre any worse, its just some technical thing. i cant explain properly
and obviously the ones everyone has appear to have a higher rupture rate. but, the majority of people have these, so theyre obviously going to have a higher rate of rupture. if 50% had the normal ones and 50% the “better” ones, im sure the rupture rate would be the same. that could explain why more people seem to be complaining about rupturing with these implants
why would companies waste their time putting implants that were “unsafe” inside people. im sure the surgeons wouldnt do it and it would ruin their reputations. the less rupture they can get as a company the better
all implants will probably need replacing at some point, even though were told they could be there forever, i dont believe that for one minute.
but if you want tho throw an extra few hundred for a different make of implant, go for it. tho, for me, its just like choosing between nike and addidas, both the same!!!!!
as long as you have a good surgeon and look after them well, they shouldnt rupture, and if your bidy is going to rupture one set, im sure it would rupture another?
just my opinions anyway xD ramble over ladiesss!!
thank you for all the positive comments…
I feel loads better after reading them, i think i was having a paranoid moment..!
I need to not worry and stop over google-ing boobie related things, hahaa..!!
I am so relieved to read these comments
i was sooo close to cancelling my BA, was gutted after saving up just enough money.!
Im just going to go with the Allergan CUI implants, at the end of the day im only 19 so without a doubt im going to have another BA so that extra money would just be a waste.
Pheeeew emotional moment over
all excited again haha! 5 weeks to gooooo…

Hi Maia
If MYA had any issues with them, they wouldn’t use them! There is a lot of good on the internet, but also a lot of bad. I was a bit like you google-ing everything to do with boobs. I know you need to know the pros and cons of having a BA, but if your like me then its just the bad things that you read which stay in your head. I’m probably one of the worlds worst worriers and i had my doubts too. My surgeon Mr Traynor explained absolutely everything to me including the risks and answered all the questions that I fired at him. I’ve had the standard Allergan CUI implants and I trusted Mr Traynor 100% over what I read on the internet.
I’m so pleased you haven’t cancelled your BA after saving the funds
I am so happy with mine. If you want to see some of my pics, just let me know your email address. You might of seen them already I don’t know, I’ve sent them to that many people!!
Let me know how it all goes for you. You won’t regret it hun!!!!
All the best. xx
That’s even more of a relief as im with Mr Traynor too
thank youuu Lizzie… Really put my mind at rest.!
I do tend to panic over the bad things and forget the good things, plus the reasons i am having a BA..
I would love to see your pics please, amy_20047@msn.com
What hospital did you have..?
xxxx
Mr Traynor is fantastic and I would definitely have him again. I went to the Manchester Lifestyle and everybody there were lovely from start to finish.
I will send my pics in a few emails, so the files aren’t too big for you to view. If you have any probs in viewing them, just let me know! xx
I have looked into this a lot myself, and the implants which women on Sofem are saying have ruptured are the PIPs implants. I have looked all through the posts on Sofem and not found anyone with Allergan CUIs having problems with ruptures and leaks. The gel is cohesive enough to stay put if there is a rupture, as far as I understand it. Having said that, I am going to pay the extra for the Inspira range because I am a worrier, and have waited so long for this BA decided to put it off for 3 months & save up the extra. It is going to be
