I’m pre op babe. They’re lil tabs that are are supposedly good for the reduction of swelling/bruising. Not every surgeon recommends them. I’ve been advised to take them xx

Yeh I took them b4 and after haven’t had any swelling I don’t think n a tiny little bruise either side size of little finger nail if smaller.

What does it say to do? I took mine 2/3 a day before my op, one the morning of op n 2 a day for a week after my op :)

Where did u get urs from? Xx

Arnica is a brilliant herb for reducing bruising, however it thins the blood like aspirin. It can lead to higher risk of bleeding, and of the incisions not healing properly. I use herbs for everything and am a big fan of Arnica, but personally will not be using it for another week (I’m 5 weeks post now) because of the reasons above. I don’t want my scars popping open (which blood thinning agents have been shown to contribute to). When your scars are completely healed you can use the tablets, or the cream without issues xx

Well I’m 2 weeks 2morow n at my first check up which was last thurs my scars had completely closed n I didn’t need steri strips on or at all. Nurse was very please with my healing. As I’ve said in a post b4 I used them when I had my c section and again healed very quick n very good. I would recomend having them :) not tring to argue with u at all :) I just think every1 should take them xx

I got my instructions from a homeophath. How know what she’s talking about. Some doctors really dont like homeophathy so they would not recomend it at all. Xx

I’m a herbalist and use herbs for everything as I said, so i’ve seen what it can do. Obviously not everyone will react the same way, but there are risks involved. Nearly all the surgeons recommend avoiding aspirin, so it surprises me that some say Arnica is ok. I think because it has less research literature probably.

No i didn’t take it. I have the cream and have used it all my life on bruises and swelling, but won’t be using it for another week (6 week mark) just in case x

He has just text back,he said its fantastic,he would prefer his girls to take 2 weeks before surgery, and continue after, ask him on the day how long he wants you to take it post-op.xxxxxx

There is no Arnica is aspirin, but they have similar blood thinning qualities. The risk is higher if you are taking another blood thinner like warfarin, aspirin, ibuprofen etc. I’m not saying you *will* be more likely to bleed, just that there is a risk there. If the surgeon has recommended them then presumably he has seen your medical history and deemed it ok x
