ARNICA trouble

boutght arnica ages ago, not bothered to take it, i took ones yesterday, and today i cant for the life of me get anymore out the silly bottle thing, i feel like smashing it to peices!! LOL.

i dont know how many to take a day either, i think it says 2 omn the tube thing, what doid ui girls do or what are u doing?

I took one 200c the day b4 op n 3 a day after for 7days.

Those bottles can be a right pain!! if u get it open u could always put them in a little resealable bag. Like the ones u get spare buttons in when u buy a top or something. Xx

Is there a push button at the bottom hun? May be wrong, but thats the 1st thing i thought when i read ur post!

Were you specifically told to take Arnica by your surgeon? If not, I would avoid it till your scars are all healed up fully. Arnica is a blood thinner and can cause complications, especially if you have a history of hemorrhage, or are taking other blood thinners at the same time (aspirin etc) x

Its also to help with healing and bruising so to me its pointless taking after you have healed ??!?? If you go to the docs and get tablets for an infection u have you wouldnt wait till that infections has gone b4 you started taking them ??

No not everyone, do a search on here for Arnica and you will see lots of threads with warnings. It’s not safe for everyone to take since it thins the blood. While you’re healing this could mean you have a higher chance of your scars opening up or not healing properly, and of bleeding more, and being at higher risk of hemmorrage. You also shouldn’t take it in the run up to your op unless specified. Arnica is fantastic, and I use the cream all the time for bruises, but don’t use it unless your surgeon has specifically said to, for the above reasons. You don’t want to put your new investments at risk xx

My surgeon recommended Arnica,he believes in it,but not every surgeon shares the same opinion.

well my surgeon didnt reccomend anything, he didnt advice me on stopping my pill, arnica, creams, to get steri strip thing, nothing at all! he was very straight to the point, to be frank, dissapointing, so ive relied on you girls to help me on what to do. xx

If there’s anything you’re unsure of, make sure you ask the surgeon outright. They don’t always offer the information but I’ve found Mr. K to be really helpful with any specific questions I’ve had, and for anything else I chew the nurse’s ear off x
