6 days post op just had tapes off and back at work tomorrow (travel agent so not to much effort required) I’m so worried about something going wrong n wondered when people started picking up / carrying there kids again coz nurse has just told me 6 weeks but that’s unrealistic really but really don’t want to mess anything up with my recovery

i would go with what your body tells you hun…it must be hard having a toddler and not being able to pick them up…just maybe wait a little longer…i agree 6 weeks is unrealistic…your body will tell you if you are doing too much xx

I am having my op in October and my son will have only just turned 2. He is such a mummys boy and quite clingy to me so i am dreading it! My mum is taking a week off work so she can help out with him. I think i will have to go live upstairs for a week to pretend i’m not there, otherwise he would want me to pick him up all the time! xx

I’ve sat on the floor cuddling her to try and be a good mummy hehe xx. I have lifted her out of the cot and into the car … And I’ve carried her down the stairs and stuff and I feel fine doing that xx my mum keeps coming round on a night to put her into her cot for me cause my hubby is working away boo xx

Hi girls. I have a nearly 3 yr old n nearly 2 yr old. I def didn’t lift them for the first 2 weeks. I’m now just over 5 weeks n I do pick them up n put them in highchair ect. I’d say I started about 3 ish weeks. Getting right down to their level n kind of using ur knee to lift them more, if u get me :) I also told them to put the legs around me as I did find it hard to just hich them up on my hip as they’d rub/bash my boob.

When I first had them done I thought how the he’ll am I gonna do this n not pick them up. But everyday u get a little bit more useful it gets better. I can’t believe it’s been 5 weeks already feels like it was ages ago. It will get easier for u girls I promise :) try hugging them on ur lap with a pillow between ur boobs n bubba :) it’s not quite the same but it’s much better than nothing xxxx

Ahhh this is something that has been bothering me ever since I booked my op!!

I have a two year old and an 11 month told and I am having a TT in December, and planning to have uplift and implants when I have recovered from that.

I plan to stay upstairs majority of time as I know it will be so tempting to try and pick them up, but hopefully I will be able to have snuggles with them while I am in bed without the thought of them going to hurt me…

A lot of people don’t understand or can’t accept why I am having it done at this time, but like I have said to them – I would rather have it done while they are this young so they don’t remember it and think that image matters. Luckily, my mum and mother in law are understanding and will be there every step of the way for me, and my husband is supportive too… well he is paying for it!! lol xx

Awhh lexi,Anita this is so upsetting. but time soon flys by. I have had my grandaughter who has only just moved out with her momma since she has been born. I have held her hugged, cuddled her everyday shes now 18 months old. when I had my BA I was the same gutted could’nt pick her up only could hug her sittin on floor and she loved puttin her head on me. I am still not properly able to pick her up due to a Infection. but each day gets better. I know how u girl’s feel dont worry ur little ones know mommy loves them and they can sense mommie dont feel to good. dont get upsetting urselfs It wont be long before ur back In the ball park playing with them :) xx

Yeah I totally understand your worries! I have a 1 and 2 yr old, the youngest is very clingy and wants cuddles all the time!! I was away till the second day post op but when I got home I got them both to climb on the sofa and sit on my lap and cuddle that way. It’s so hard not to lift them up, I did on day 4 or 5 can’t remember which one but, I really paid for it the next day! Try and resist the urge and listen to your body. Sorry just realised this went on a bit lol!!! Xx
