BA and looking after a 2 year old?!

Hey Ladies,

I’m booking my BA next Monday for the end of September time. I’m booking 2 weeks off work. My only problem is that I have a 2 year old & no one is going to be able to help me look after her really. I’m just worried as I don’t know if I’m suppose to just stay in bed that whole time? Has anyone had a BA with a child? Any advice would be great. X

I havnt got a child but its really hardwork without one! U wont be able to lift or make mealks for at least 5days xxx

hi i had my ba 3 months ago.. i have 2 lil boys at the time they were 11 months and 3yrs own my partner helped for 2 days but at 3days po he had to go back to work so i had to do it all myself it was hard at times but i found it managable. u.jus have to b very careful makesure all the stuf is out at a good level cause my plates were in a really high cuboard it washard to reach up try keep lifting to a minimum espesh at 1st n only do so when your comfirtable in doin it i lifted them em but only at a hips hight lifting them fully up is hard (well it is with unders) xx

Xrosaax , I’ had my op 2 weeks ago, I have 3 boys the youngest being 2, I just got totally organised, big food shop, changed all beds, all washing and ironing done, shuffled my cupboards around so everything was easy to reach, made a pile of clothes for me at easy reach and did the same with boys. I have tried to rest but to be honest it’s a bit difficult with 3 kids, finding am exhausted each day and very poor stamina but it’s getting easier each day x

Thanks ladies glad to hear its do able. I know I’ll get some but it deffently will be minimal because my partner doesn’t get paid for time off. Some days my little girl will just lay on the sofa with the duvet ect. Just I needed to know I won’t be bed bound for the first couple of days as I will have to get up & potter about with her. Think the key like you girls said is organisation. I’m sure I can do it us mum can get through anything lol. X

Hi hun i am 4 weeks post op i have a 3 year old and 11 month old and was ok. My partner had week and half off work as nurse told me not to lift baby as my right side was healing bit slower. U will be fine. Unfortunately if u have kids there isnt ever going to be a right time i thought about a ba for over year and just decided to go for it for that reason xx
