    Hi ladies

Quick question. I am having my BA done on 18th July and then going on holiday on 11th Auguest for two weeks. Will I be able to go swimming on holiday?!

The surgeon knows I want it done for my holiday and the only concern mentioned was time between the op and flying. Nothing was mentioned about my intentions on holiday, ie swimming, sunbathing, etc.

Any help would be appreciated so I can at least prepare myself for no fun on holiday :0( x

    Hi,

I am pretty sure that you can paddle but won’t be able to swim as it may cause infection maybe worth checking with your advisor.

Are you going to the Highgate on the 18th July? That is my surgery date too!

You can’t swim or expose your scars to sun for 6 weeks hun. Even after that you have to put factor 50 on your scars and you can’t put any lotions on til you have your 6 week check xx

Your not allowed to keep your scars wet for prolonged periods until your six week all clear, same for putting lotions of any description on. Your supposed to keep your scars out of direct sunlight for a year (as they could become red and raised) and your supposed to keep your whole boob out the sun for up to six months (usually six weeks is enough) as you have stretched your skin, you can tan/burn blotchy xx

I am not allowed to swim, play golf or tennis and those things for 3 months. Plus what the others said, you need to stay out of the sun.

Oh bums! At least I can work on a tan on my legs! I’ll just have to cool off in the shower instead! Thanks girls x
