BA yesterday and can't eat.. =[ HELP

I have finally brought my beloved twins home, but after a really long day of not eating (and looking forward to a nice KFC treat after) I cannot keep my food down, I have been up in the night to take my medicine but was sick 5 mins after! Has anyone else had this and do they know whether it was the GA, morphine or the painkillers after…?? Haven’t eaten since thurs night and it’s horrific! Any advice girls would be really appreciated.. =]

I wasn’t physically sick but did feel v sick when I got home, I was hungry but coulbdnt touch food. On day 3 I stopped my painkillers and my appetite returned. It’s a combination of the ga and the medication you’re on (I was on tramadol so that was one of the side effects) – I came home with morphine and ga in my system so it’s probably those that are to blame if you’re only 1 day post op. it will get better x

I vomited all night in the hospital. They found me on the bathroom floor twice fainting and throwing up. Then the nurse thought I should eat some toast I threw that up as well. Eventually they injected me in the bum to stop the sickness and that worked. By the time I went home I didn’t feel sick but I felt really itchy. I think the ga has all sOrts of side effects.Some of the meds cause things too ie Diclofenac I believe caused the bloated feeling and constipation. check ur meds are working for you and things shd settle soon – if you continue to vomit/ feel sick call your nurse!!!!!!! Get well soon xx

Ah sorry to hear that Hun I would ring your nurse for advice, my nurse told me If the antibiotics made me sick then to stop taking them for a couple of days for things to settle and then start taking them again hope u start feeling better Hun xx

Thank you so much girls! I don’t think the Morphine agreed with me.. and one of my painkillers which I’m giving a rest for now. Maybe try again tomorrow when all the drugs are out of my system. I may get that KFC afterall! =] xxx

I switched my meds and drunk boiled lemonade dunno why but it worked me for me! Did you have BA under muscle or over? I stopped taking codiene as made me weak n sickly n took ibuprofen, hope your well soon xx

hun, i was a night case and so glad!!

its because of the fasting before then all the drugs pumped into you. you shouldnt have any pills if youre throwing up… get that under control first.

ring the hospital to see what they say.

they wouldnt let me leave until i got the sickness under control… i hadn’t eaten since thursday night and had op fri at 6pm!!!! then sick all night up till 1pm. i havn’t took any co-codamol. just paracetemol.

nibble ginger biscuit and wash down with lil water. ginger is good for sickness. hope you feeling better.xx

Finally feeling good again!! Yay! I had the op under the muscle so I am most definitely in need of painkillers at the mo! Hope younger all doing well and thank you for the advice!!! xx

Ginger herbal tea is good for feeling sick too. Hope you feel better soon, everyone seems to react in different ways. It’s all worth it in the end though isn’t it. Think of what we put ourselves through with hangovers and there’s no prize at the end of that unlike getting new boobies! x x x
