BAAPS register

Just realised my surgeon isn’t on the about register, should I be worried??!!

I think I read that if the surgeon was practising before a certan date there was no obligation on them to register, I’ll see if I can find the link

Baaps and Bapras registered surgeons are not necessarily better surgeons than non Baaps and Bapras registered, it is an elective society for surgeons, many of the top cosmetic surgeons have never worked for the NHS as they have always been in the cosmetic surgery industry and done private work, so will not be a member of this society, it is important to look at the GMC register. Also only British surgeons can join so many surgeons are members of similar societies in there own country.

Mine isn’t registered and he’s very highly recommended, I wouldn’t worry. Look up their other qualifications if you’re worried. My friend is a geberal surgeon and he looked into my surgeon for me and had no isses with anything being missing x
