Hiya, I’m in Scotland and had my opp done in Birmingham, I was an overnight case, got out of surgery at 3pm couldn’t keep anything down til next morning at which I had to leave at 10am.. I was on my own so had pain relief from nurse at 7ish and no more after that as I found it made me sleepy.. car journey to airport was half an hour a little rough on those back roads and bumps.. driver was very careful though.. then I had to sit at the airport and wait.. I ate some crisps as was starting to feel sick..i wished I had packed just normal paracetamol for the nagging pain but hadn’t oops.. the worst bit was sitting on the seats at the airport that are all attached as other people getting up and down from there seats or kicking there feet was felt in my boobs as was most unpleasent.. my flight boarded luckily I was first on and had a front seat so easy peasy.. flight was a little scary found myself breathing in through my nose, holding amd letting out, a lot!! Couldn’t reach the airflow twist thing above my head.. luckily was not to hot and kept calm.. landing was much better on way home thankgod.. then I was a car journey home which took about 1hour 20 mins.. that was ok as hubby was careful and our car is very comfy.. the worst bit was my hand luggage I would say.. Take as little as u need coz carrying it around is not comfortable, and walking is sooo much slower.. hope this helps hun. Xx

Hi hun, i travelled about an hour for my op and took a pillow between myself and the seatbelt.
The nurses at the hospital were fab and made sure i could sit up, eat and walk up and down the corridor before letting me leave. If you feel sick they can give you anti-sickness as i always get sick from anesthetic but i didn’t with my BA xx

Hey Francesca thanks for replying i have only ever had really bad experiences from anaesthetic but it was the pain that i was more concerned about think it will only be a 3hr drive if i do go to Liverpool to get it done but suppose it must be bearable otherwise people wouldn’t do it xx

Yer mad is the word lol.. when I had my opp nearly 6 years ago with The Hospital group the sorted transport in my costs and had me on a flight there and flight back then next day so I never thought it was an issue so when I went for re op 10days ago I only had to cover implant as wanted better ones and sort travel out and given I couldn’t drive that far.. I figured flying would be fine as it was last time.. they gave me a safe to travel letter and knew I was flying.. I’m pretty sure that flying was easier than taking a train as I couldn’t be arsed with a train, long uncomfortable and stuck on it for ages. . No thanks lol.. my implants only ruputured at end of last year after 5 and half years due to being pips… ring and ask your PC hun see what they think..

Hi, i had my BA last Tuesday in Preston which is about 2 hours from my home. I was told during consolation that i couldn’t fly for 4 weeks and advised against public transport due to the risk of being knocked into. I stayed at a nearby hotel the night after the operation then travelled home the next day by car and was fine. Good luck! xx
