Hi girls just thought I’d share my story with you all…
I arrived at Highgate at 12pm yesterday although my admission time wasn’t till 1 o’clock. They let me put my stuff in my room and wait there anyway. I had also arranged to meet a friend I met on this forum as she was having her Op on the same day and she was also called Gemma lol!
I went to Gemma’s room to see her as she had already had her op when I arrived and I can honestly say she looked absolutely bloody fantastic! She had the same size that I was having and although they had only just been done they looked stunning! I went back up to my room to wait to be called but I was waiting for what seemed forever! There was a knock at the door and it was Gemma, still in her gown and support socks lol! She sat with me while I waited and put me at such ease. Finally at 3.15 they came for me and I was so so nervous!
They led me to this little room and lay me down and the anaesthetist was chatting with me and making me laugh, I can barely remember the cannula going in so it couldn’t have hurt much, then I just felt this tingling going up my arm and that was it. I woke up in recovery feeling a little groggy and asked the nurse if it had been done, she said yes have a look! I looked down at them and thought wow! They looked fab even though they were taped up. I was shivering when I came round so they put this hair dryer type thing under the covers and it was lovely and toasty. they then wheeled me back to my room where my husband was waiting for me. I had no pain whatsoever, I felt a million dollars, I couldn’t believe I was stressing about nothing! My bed was really comfy and I got fed a lovely meal and I just watched TV all night. All in all it was a really nice experience and I would do it all over again!!
