Back from my 6 week check…. things that might help pre or post op girls x

Hi Girls.

So after 6hours of traveling for a half hour appointment I am now back from my 6 week check up! Don’t ya just love London!!!!!

So I’ve just seen my surgeon and made a list of questions to ask him which I thought others may find useful!

Q1. When can I start massaging and using bio oil on scars?

A. As of 6 weeks you can start massaging bio oil into scars and be quite firm really pushing the scars. Also with unders they self message any way so do this once a day.

Q2. When can I use Sunbeds?

A. From 6 weeks, however cover scars and note new false boobs will sunburn quicker.

Q3. Can I scuba dive?

A. Yes, however you may find it uncomfortable with the pressure as you get deeper, Also it will create bubbles inside you which will desperse in time

Q4. Is laying on your front ok?

A. No! As you lay on your front to sleep it will push the implants flatter which will create a bigger pocket inside you allowing them in time to mis shape!!!

Q5.Can I now fully soak in a bath?

A. Yes (Whoop Whoop)!!

Q6. Can I now wear underwired Bra’s?

A. Yes. However start off a couple of hours at a time and don’t wear push up bra’s as it won’t allow your implant to drop properly!

Q7. How long before sensitive nipples get better?

A. Normally around 4 months!!! OMG Im only 6 weeks and don’t think I can cope a second longer let alone another 3 months!!!

im 15 weeks post op, and have been lying on my front, its the only way im comfy, im bit worried now, hope i havent flattened them x

wow 6 weeks already and looking great hunni love your new bra set. I had extra sensitive nipples for 8/9 weeks so might not be for too much longer. Re; wearing underwire bras again, i found these really uncomfortable to start with. Didn’t start wearing them til 9 weeks, then alternated every other day with my sports bra for the first week until i got use to them again. Enjoy bra / bikini shopping x

Hey guys. I know! Im exactly the same! The only way I can sleep is laying on my front normally but I keep rolling over and waking up on my front without realising! So needed to ask the question! He shwed me and demonstrated on an implant and put his hand on it and squashed it like you would if you were laying on ya front. Makes total sence the way he demonstrated it that it would make your pockets bigger! Whoops!!! One word…. Mortified!!!

OMG lol no more sleeping on my front? so can you never sleep on ya front? xx

Thanks Tammy. Think thats what im gonna start doing. Just doing it gradually like the surgeon said and also going braless for a few hours to make them drop quicker.

Jo – Think it depends if you have unders or overs? I had unders so you have to wait until completely settled and healed! With unders he said it could on some take upto a year!

I had overs nearly 2 years ago, and still do not find it comfortable to lay on my front even sunbathing is not as comfy. Need a sunbed with 2 holes cut out lol

Ics3 – It’s because your incisions haven’t healed yet and it can give you an infection!

And I have dibs on that sun bed!!! I think there could def be a market for it! lol.

I think you’ll learn to not lie on your front ladies- I won’t be from now on! once you get into a routine you won’t do it just be careful xx

Hey George – Any advice not to? I lay on my back to go to sleep but turn over on my front while im asleep. How do ya learn not to when your in the land of zzzzzz’s?

Hey girlies, i started wearing underwired bras all the time 2 weeks after my op, i live in them now and have even started wearing pushups, im only 6 weeks post op, do you think this will damage and mis-shape my implants? xxx

I think the words are “lay on your back and think of England” ;O ha ha ha.. I’ll defo be on my back 4 weeks to get some practice in.. Not worth hurting ya girls is it lol x

Do not wear underwire bras for the first several weeks because they tend to push your implants high, and prevent them form settling into place. The best type of bra to wear during this period is a “sleep-in” bra. If you can’t find them, just get soft bras, and remove the under-wire.

and also this

An underwire bra should not be worn until the breast implants have dropped into their correct position. If you have inframammary incisions you will need to wait until after you have completely healed from breast augmentation to wear underwire bras. The wire may cause friction or pressure on the suture line, resulting in pain and problems with the healing process. The skin near your incisions may be numb after surgery, so underwire can actually dig into your skin and you won’t feel a thing. Sports bras or any bra without an underwire is ok, when your sutures are healed

Wow!! Loool i think what i will do is wear my soft bras to work, but on a night out ill prob just wear an underwired bra for that night. thanks for the advice!! xxx

I usually sleep on my side or front and although have bloody hated it have stayed stationary for two weeks now did a whole week sitting [grumpy for a wk but did it] then last week flat on my v pillow- so arms raised slightly. I think if you keep with your v pillow and just be really concious about not squishing the new girls you should be ok. You just need to train your mind and body to stay still.

p.s Amanda- I posted loads on really sexy soft bras for nights out- get the plunging neckline going on for 6 weeks with CK soft bra [apparently in tk maxx] and on ebay half price- posted a link- earlier this wk

really supportive with a nice v shape, then don’t need to go near an underwired – I couldn’t wait to get into a soft bra as have wanted to wear one all my life but been so small was way to self concious always needed padding – get the nips out too xx

When you lay back and think of england isn’t something exciting meant to happen with it?? lol

George – Think im gonna have to start using v pillow again to try and stop myself from doing it! I think last night was the first night I haven’t tried to turn over in my sleep, however had quite a restless night. Kept waking up checking im not laying on my front! lol xxx
