    Hi ladies,

I’m a student athlete and compete at a high level of sport. I train/workout intensely 4-5 times a week! (I’m currently a taekwondo/weightlifitng athlete). However, after all my years of going to the gym and weight training I have toned up alot in the last 3 years and lost alot of weight on my upper body (lower body weight doesnt wanna shift) :P

I’ve been looking to get a BA for a number of years now, but with my schedule being so hectic, I havent been able to get the ball rolling cos I’m always entering competitions etc. And I’m finding that as I get older, I’m getting alot more conscious about my empty 34C (I would love to be a DD/E). I’m a 12/14, 5’8”.

I wanted to get them done over the Christmas, but then found out I would be competing in Ghana in April 2011, so there was no chance I’d be able to have the op and train for the camp in April :(

Soooooo…I’ve decided if I do get them done then I want them for summer (after my exams at uni, so maybe May) But… I want to go on holiday in June! Will this give me a good time to recover? And how long will it take for me to get back to competing again?

    Thanks ladies .x.

    Hi gabbybee

Ghana sounds like a very exciting trip! Best of luck!

To answer your question, we advise to take 6 weeks off from exercise after your BA, after 6 weeks we recommend starting light and building up to your previous level of exercise.

    Hope this helps!

hi gabbybee…. Im a fitness instructor and as part of my job i like to look the part:-). To be honest every one is different but i.ve only just really started back on weight training and im still avoiding chest. I.ve got a appt with my surgeon on wed so gunna make sure he okay’s every thing till i start on chest. Even when doing lat pull down and various exercises i struggle. Can feel pulling in the breast area. As far as your hol goes they recommend different recovery for long and short haul flights x x p.s. My op was beggining oct

@naty128, I asked my PC this and she said they advise about 6+ weeeks because you can get alot of infections from the pool.

Thanks for the info omighty86, reading that is a big help. I’m also a coach and instructor too, so I know what you mean about looking the part :)

We’re you avoiding chest because you was worried to? Or because you was advised? When did you start going back to training, not weight training, but running etc?

hola… i didnt work chest through my own choice..you listen to your own body. They say you can exercise from 6 wk plus but thats only really light exercise and very limited. From my opinion i would make sure you get the best sports bra which you prob have anyway ( shockabsorber etc) and just start on the bike.. slowy introduce the other equipment. I waited 2 1/2 month till i did upper body weights. Dont expect that when 6 wk comes you will defo be able to exercise. It took me longer for recovery so i defo wasnt ready at 6 wk. Hope this helps, its best tht your realistic then it wont interfere with any training :-)

Hi, with regards to going away they say no short haul flights for 4 weeks and no long haul for 6 weeks, you will also need to keep your scars covered as the sun will permanantly redden them.

Be careful with excercising and don’t do it too early as it may move your implant, your surgeon will tell you when you are healed enough to start excercising again

Well Gabbybee…… I think getting them done in May would be a FABULOUS idea ;) as soon as that exam is out the way I’m going to be on the operating table!! Lol. I’m going on holiday in July and praying they will have dropped by then.. June might be a bit soon xx

Thanks ladies. May is really the only time that’ll work for me because i’ll be off of uni till October (6months) and its not essential that I start training again, but I have no idea what competitions my coach has instore for me :?

@jessbell – i dont think theyll drop that much in 2 months (well to a very natural looking shape) but we could POSSIBLY be getting them done at the same time.

Got my consultation with the big boobie man (Dr Singh) next wednesday so i’ll see what he says.

Its gonna be a nightmare not playing sport for possibly over 2 months :(

This is why “someone” has drummed it into my head to wait till i have kids!!! But i’m only 21, and not looking to pop, lock and drop for at least another 5/6 years! I’ve waited 6 years already

    Thanks ladies
