Bit of a strange question but have any of you girls had any bad reactions to the actual implants themselves? The reason im asking is ive had two very bad reactions to hair dye recently, one so bad my face really swelled! I know this is a completely different thing but my mum (who doesn’t want me to have the ba) is trying to scare me into not having it done saying what if i get a bad reaction?! Can anyone help to put my mind at reat please?? x x

The 2 reactions would be completely different… silicone is a natural material whereas hair-dye is a chemical, obviously there’s things that can go wrong if the body rejects the implant or you have infections but there’d be no relation between the two. :) x

Because the implants are made from silicon (an inert substance) I do not think you can be allergic to them. You’re body can try to reject them, and this is capsular contracture. Basically the scar tissue that forms around the implant (which happens to everyone) could start to go hard and squeeze the implant, which is when you may need corrective surgery. Capsular contracture is a known consequence to having implants that your surgeon will talk about with you. I’m not sure you being allergic to hairdye will make it any more likely that you will suffer from this though, ad they are 2 different reactions in the body. (I’m a medical scientist). Best to talk about it with the surgeon though. Xxx

Thanks girls, feel a bit daft asking but you know what its like when people start to put ideas into your head! ha. I know this is definitely what i want but it doesnt stop some nerves creeping in every now and again. I’m defo gonna have another consultation before I book so will ask then x x

It’s a big decision so of course you’ll be nervous!! I was terrified. I saw the surgeon 3 times before my surgery just because I had so many questions. I really don’t think the hair dye thing will make a difference, I’m sure everything will be fine. :-) xx

Thank you. Which surgeon did you have and what type/size implants? Do they look smaller than your actual bra size like some people say? Sorry about all the questions, im just so excited and cant wait to get as much info as possible! Ive requested ya as a friend if thats ok? x x

I had Mr Traynor back in jan and went from 34A to 34DD with 340cc overs. I’m 5 weeks post op but got measured yesterday as I couldn’t wait any longer!!! I think they look about a D so yeah maybe s little smaller than my bra size, but not a massive amount. I asked for c/d cup so I’m well happy!!! And I would thoroughly recommend Mr T. Will add you now, will be putting more pics up soon and soon will have 6 week post op pics in bras! Can’t wait!

Who are you having and what? Xxx
