Bio Oil !!

Ive just started to use bio-oil on my scars – Im 4 weeks post op tomorrow

Is this bad?

When are you supposed to be allowed to use it?

i was 4 weeks post op on thursday and i only use it on the top, not too sure when we can put it on our scars?? x

I thought you had to wait at least 6 weeks? I didn’t start using it on my scars untill i was 8 weeks. Might be worth just phoning the nurse tomorrow and ask, just to be on the safe side?

i thought it would be ok because the skin is not broken, just a bit raised and red

i dont think you should put anything on your scars until they have healed over to reduce risk of infection, so 6 weeks is prob best, use it on the rest of your boobs tho to prevent stretch marks. i have a pre op visit with the nurse tomorrow will do my best to remember to ask her and let you know, although my memory is shocking!! x

Supposedly after 6 weeks but I used mine from 4 weeks and they’re healing fine!and nurse said my scars were fine at my 6 week check up!xx

hiya, remembered to ask the nurse, she said you can use it as soon as she takes the dressing off! x

Hi all, talking of scars I went to see mr Singh at 5 weeks post op and he said I could start wearing normal bras but after a week they went really red and one bled slightly so went back to sports bras and 2 weeks later they are still pretty red, has anyone else had this? X x
