Bio-Oil

When can you start using bio-oil after surgery? Is it worth buying? Or would you recommend something else?

pound shop sells something called rescue oil, same colour as bio oil similar bottle etc… i have that and bio oil and to me its the same stuff, i used it during pregnancy and not 1 strectch mark on my stomach, will save a lot of money. Hope that helps xx

Hey sam, I was told I could start using bio-oil (on scars) as soon as scars have fully healed. I couldn’t say whether bio-oil is any good as I haven’t really used it for scars, I have a bottle of the stuff but barely use it. I have also used cocoa butter to avoid stretch marks on breast and to help soften them whilst I’m healing. I really don’t know what the best on the market is for scars xxx

Bio-oil is well worth getting.xx

I also used it on my cesearean scar which is now barely noticable. xx

I used bio-oil whilst pregnant, I smothered my belly every night and no where else… I didn’t get a single stretchmark on it but did on my boobs and bum! Not sure if it was coincidence or not but I like to think it works and i’m not applying on my scars as and when I remember

I started to use it at 6 weeks post op once I was given the all clear x

i used bio-oil during both pregnancies and still got stretch marks, it does make them fade quicker tho i think it depends on ur skin type really hun xx

Apparently arnica supplements are also good to take before and after… I hear it minimises bruising?! xx

bio oil is really good for fading the scars. xx and on strech marks,

I have photos on here of my really horrible boobs (thanks to my children lol) as they are now and i do have a lot of stretch marks. I know nothing will get rid of them but if i can fade them over time as well as conditioning my skin in the 6 days before my op as well as treating the scars (areola reduction, uplift and implants) after then thats great.

I had my first BA nearly 4 years ago! my stretch marks where horrid! i have been using bio oil for 2 months now to prepare for the next BA and this stuff is amazing!!! Scars are so much reduced!!

I am 2 weeks post op having had an uplift and implants.

Can I start using bio oil on my scars?

My surgeon says yes but im not too sure?? xx
