bio oil is just a rip off if u ask me!!!! coco butter is one of the best, or boots do a cocnut oil thats really goocd!!!! as long as u keep ur skin moisturised on a daily basis u shud be fine… and to be fair stretch marks are more genetic… some ppl are prone to them more than others when the skin stretches xxxx just grease urself up u will be fine hahaha oh and baby oils great and cheap xxx

im 2 weeks away from having my op and have just bought bio oil to start using everyday till my surgery (not 24 hours before op though or a week after) i’d use it all over as your skin is going to stretch. and using oil before hand will allow the skin to stretch easier. :)

Heya, I preferred Palmers to prevent stretch marks.I started using it 2 days post op (avoiding scars) and 6 weeks on have no stretch marks at all.

The oil seemed too messy for me but I think now my scars are healed I’m going to start using rescue oil (cheaper version of bio oil) on them to help fade them a bit!)

My nurse and surgeon told me that using oil/cream before the op won’t do anything except make ur skin soft. :S I guess there is no harm in trying it though.. I never bothered. xx

Just bought a bottle of Bio Oil and some Palmers Cocoa Butter for stretch marks.. Gonna start using it today :) I’ve heard that micing them both together works really well at fading stretch marks so I might try that on my hips later haha :P xx

I’m taking no chances and using my bio oil religiously as stretchmarks run in the family with us girls, and they are not nice!

I have a neurologist surgeon friend who absolutely insists that bio oil works wonders on scars, but have heard cocoa butter is v good too. vitamin E, good quality, is a really good idea tho, as the health of skin is largely to do with nutrients on the inside really. go for ‘nature’s own’, when it’s my turn I’ll be taking a high dose but i’m a health therapist so check with gp etc first and only take high dose for a month. xx
