Blood Blister?!

After having my dressing removed today, 1 week post op, i noticed a nasty looking blood blister on my left boob clevage. The nurse said not to worry about it too much, just to keep an eye on it??!!
Not sure what has caused it, or if it will get much worse before it gets better, but it looks minging on my new lovely boobies 🙁
Anybody else suffered from this? Any advise? xx

It’s from the dressing rubbing and pulling mine was really bad I’m 10 weeks post op and I’ve still got a big mark from it not very happy about it xx

hey @riverqueen this happened to me at my one week post op, i have lots of little blisters and the nurse said it was a reaction to the dressing, Ive never had a reaction to anything which is strange. she just put a different type of dressing on thats breathable and they should hopefully clear up xx

Hi Stacey. Its so annoying as I highlighted on my paperwork that I was allergic to surgical dressings…thats what it’l be then, not surprised they didnt say it was an allergic reaction.. Initially they put a clear tape over my incisions, but before I left the hospital and because I had no reaction from where the plaster was from the needle in my hand, the nurse said i’d be ok with the standard dressing.
I also have really little but painful blisters under my boobs too 🙁
Hopefully it’l start to clear up now the dressings back off! xx

Hi hun i had this at my 1 week post op..the nurse sait it wasnt an allergic reaction..just because the tape had been on for a week when my skin swelled and unswelled it will have been pulling on the tape etc..i was very sore from it allover, I was also advised to keep a plaster over the blood blister so that if it leaked then it wouldn’t go near my incions xx

Hi @Pepperpot, good idea, just going to put a plaster on it now.. It looks rank.
Maybe mine was the swelling too, really no idea, the nurse never explained. Its not painful but will be keeping my eye on it xxx

Hi girls I’m 6 days post op and just seen that I have one of these where the surgical tape is. I was really worried until I saw this post so thankyou as it has reassured me – even though it doesn’t look very nice! xxx

yep I had a small one too and it cleared up after the dressing was removed. Was gonbe by the next chk 3 days later!
