Hi, this could be a daft question but I’m 11 days PO

And had steri strips on – nurse said if they don’t come off in a week to take them off

Well theyve come off tonight as Im always showering haha

And there’s dried blood there I’m a little worried as there was none on my plasters

Im in no pain or anything and there’s not a lot.

Just wanted to know if it’s normal or if I should start to be more careful

Although I’m not sure I’m doing anything wrong. Xxx

Eek im scared have been using baby stuff cause I’ve been showering just obviously with the strips on I would just like to get the blood off so I can have a proper look. I don’t like the look of them at all infact I’m worried my scars are going to be Terrible

That’s what I get for being so well after an op!! xx

amychristina, don’t worry honey, all scars look worse when they are our scars, they may be red or raised, this is perfectly normal post surgery,as time passes they will flatten and become paler, check with your nurse or surgeon before you use the Dermatix scar sheets honey,Im sure that they recommend waiting until after 6 weeks so the wounds are fully closed,If you feel better covering the scars for your own peace of mind so that they are not rubbing on your bra, contact your nurse and ask her what sheets she can recommend that will cover the scars, but also allow them to breath whilst healing.I covered mine for about 4 months, but that was my personal choice, some people cant wait to get the strips off.hope this helps, xxx

I was toldto use simple body wash and just dry scars on the cool setting with the hairdryer like nikki said. I posted about the hairdryer a while ago. It’s a good idea. X
