Body Jewellery…

Hi all, hoping someone on here is able to advise me.

I’m booked in to have my BA on Tues 18th May at Highgate.
Obviously I understand that I’m not going to be able to wear my nipple ring during surgery, however it will need to be removed a few days prior to my op and I have been offered a plastic replacement.

Does anyone know if this will be acceptable?

I’m with Mr Adamo as a day case, and would love to hear from anyone who’ll be there at the same time as myself.

Hey hun, I had to remove all of my body jewelery just before my op. I’d put a plastic bar through my tongue but they still made me take it out along with my tummy piercing. The nurse said it’s to do with infection control. I took mine out just before I went down and put it back in an hour after. Could you do that? x

If I had a plastic one I s’pose I could try to get it back in after the op – if I’m not too sore and swollen. I only had it out for a wk recently to have an x-ray and it had to be re-inserted with a pin being pushed through, that hurt- but was ok the next day.

Thinking about it the only issue you might have is with post op swelling in the area. Maybe ask the surgeon to see what they think? My boobs and nipples swelled up loads during the two weeks after and were sore to touch. It wouldn’t be nice to be in any additional pain x
