    Hi,

I’ve just filled out the online form for a call back to arrange my free consultation. Feel nervous but excited! I have absolutely no idea what to expect so I’d like a full play by play of what happens at the consultation then what next and the timeframes… Everything from first consultation to the op and beyond! I’d love to hear from you all 🙂

Hi I’m new too. I’ve been exactly like you! Emotions all over haha. I’ve booked my surgery now but still haven’t met with surgeon that’ll be next week. but I can share about the first consultation 🙂

I went into the first consultation with my PC Julie & I was sooo nervous (I was expecting it to be like a gp surgery if I’m honest haha) but I needn’t of been. The atmosphere was so much better than I’d hoped & they were lovely & very welcoming.

So on the day I went into the Newcastle clinic’s waiting room & had to fill out a tick box form while I waited for my appointment (15mins early for this reason) the form just asked about any anasthetics previously, brief health history of family, do I give permission for gp to be contacted (had to tick this my PC later said cos they need the go ahead from them) just general stuff tick yes/no.

Then my glowing PC showed me & my partner to her consultation room. We just had a good talk about my reasons, how soon I want it done, what size I am, what I want to achieve, she showed me some example implants (so I had a good feel haha), before and after photos, what not to do, travel, explained about MYA & the surgeons they have but she also shared her own experiences which I found helpful. I went in clearly knowing who I wanted (Mr Gary Traynor) so she talked in great detail about him. I’m sure if I hadn’t of been set on him she would have guided me with other surgeons. She made my appointments there & then (she could tell I was happy to proceed). We talked about price (I’m paying outright so can’t comment on finance) I paid the deposit to secure my date, she gave me her card with all her details then after leaving she sent a text to confirm they had received the deposit.

As for time frames I made clear I wanted to go ahead quickly as possible cos I’m getting married in February & want to be all healed by then. She said it was a cancellation slot I’d be filling. Here are the dates of my appointments to give you an idea:
    22nd September – PC consultation
1st October – surgeon consultation, try on sizes with PC & pre-op (final balance due with it being so quick)
13th October – the big day at Preston First Trust Hospital eek 🙂

Sorry for the long post just wanted to give you a lot of detail lol I can’t wait for the next stage. I’d say I’m less nervous now I know some of what to expect 🙂 xx

Don’t just book one consultation do research and have a few with different surgeons as if you have a time scale in mind they may not be able to work with it. Everyone has pros and cons of different surgeons go with the surgeon that feels right for you, and it’s a weird feeling you just know when you’ve met the right one X

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be going to the Fitzroy in London. I’ll try to find out more about the surgeons etc. I don’t really have a time scale in mind? I’m not fussy!
