id say a front fastening one is essential for the first week at least! doesnt have to be a zip, macom is front fastening an i couldnt wear anything else for the first week was really hard lifting arms i have an amazing one from Royce an that has poppers at the front, only managed to wear back fastening ones after 2 weeks bending my arms back to do one up before then would of been hard xx

I had a macom and also a zip up sports bra from marks and spencers (£20), I wore that to my 7 day po with the nurse and she was impressed with it – said it was perfect as it was v supportive and long enough to protect my scars, wasn’t good to begin with cos of the swelling but its my comfiest bra now, not easily concealed under clothes though I’m afraid :-/

I had a total support bras from m&s and got my daughter to do them up for at the back as I didn’t want to waste money on a macom and still wear the bras 4 months post op they are so comfy xX

Do different surgeons prefer different support/bras etc after? I’m having mr chantarasak and been wondering what bra is best to buy! Also I looked at macom site and there’s a few breast surgery bras, how do you know which one is right? Xx

I had 1s that fastened at the back, n I use to fasten them at front n just swivel them round right way and then put my arms in I found it easy. I used tescos high impact sports bra xx
