Hi girls, had my op on Monday and still really struggling nearly 6dpo! I’ve attached photos of my bruising to ask advice on. Is this normal? I have it on my hips and pubic region too? Wondering what went on in theatre! Thanks xx

Hi Olivia, I am 3dpo and have bruising under my right arm and my hips are so sore and swollen but no bruising yet! Been assuming it’s fluid but not sure why? One of my breasts also swelled up loads more than the other, and I notice yours did too. Has it settled down now? Mine has a slightly larger implant in that side but the swelling is much more than that. It’s all so painful! X

I can understand you being bruised on your breasts but that sounds strange that you are bruised down there too. I would definitely ring and ask if that’s normal xx

My nurse said at pre op bruising and aching in other places on your torso is totally normal, because they have to (sorry to sound so graphic) really shove the implants in, and have to hold you still to get them in. If you watched the live video mya did the other day you can see them putting the implants in and it does take some force, they probably have to hold some people down to get them in. And with bruising everyones different and as long as you’re not bleeding or painkillers don’t make a difference for you then I wouldn’t be worried 🙂 xx

Hi Hun it’s totally normal to have bruising else whee after the op and they may have had to hope you down while they put the implants in they had to be quite rough when doing it so would probs have to hold you while your sleeping xxx

Thats not ‘normal’ bruising in my opinion following surgery. The chest i understand but not hips… i see lots of patients return from extensive surgery- i would be shocked to find a patient with deep bruising like this in unrelated places. It looks very painful. I would ring and ask…

Mine has got worse over the last couple of days but isn’t painful. It’s like the fluid and blood has just drained down there for some reason. It almost crunches when I touch it! Weird!! Hoping it will settle down soon. I’m only 4 dpo. Arnica hasn’t stopped my bruising at all.

I watched the video. No wonder there’s bruising!!
But (to original poster) if you feel unsure about the hip/groin bruising call them and ask for a chat with the surgeon or the chaperone/nurse to put your mind at ease x
