BUMPY SCARS!! HELP

im worried!

did anyone else have bumpy scars?

or have i got a keloid???…..was one week post op last wednesday and just had my tape off

mine felt bumpy for a bit to. i think its just the skin healing and coming together. also might be some tried blood or scabs. mine look bumpy on my pics but get better in time x

Don’t panic hun, I had similar thing on my left scar but saw nurse (NHS) at day 17 and she said it was so early to panic about the scar at this stage. I’m day 19 now and it seems to already have calmed down. Have a look at my album if you like to see x

I had my dressings off yesterday and mine are a bit bumpy. I wasn’t very happy but the nurse said this is common and they will flatten out. I then told my sister (she had her appendix out last year and has a huge scar) and hers was really bumpy for the first month or so but now it has totally flattened out. I’m sure we’ll be fine! I am 4wks post op today and i had serious panic when had dressings off as scars lookd massive and felt lumpy and bumpy but pleased to say now flattend and only wee bump here and there but even that improves daily.

Try not to worry and just give it time to settle and if doesnt seem to improve go see your they nurse thats why they are there. Hope you are happy with your new additions and happy healing Take care x

I had my BA on the 19th, too and mine are bumpy but a long way from healed so am just waiting it out x

Ladies,

Why are you touching your scars at such an early stage? I am nearly 6 weeks and still havent touched them yet – do you not worry about infection?

I had bumpy scars once I took the sterile strips off – but remember this is the first piece of fresh air the scars have had in a week… once they get washed daily and dried in the fresh air they heal soooooooo quickly.

hi faye i had my operation last weds too!.. cant believe its already been a week… my scars are bumpy as well, but i spoke to the nurse yesterday when she took my plasters off and she said that it was perfectly normal and that they will smoothen out and fade in colour as they heal… and told me never to touch or run my finger across them as this could introduce and infection.

how they looking apart from that?? are you happy?.. i love mine cant wait for them to soften!! xx

mine have soften loads already

think its cuz i only got 230 and had over

i love mine! hardly had that much pain and sleeping like normal

best of all they look so natural and in proportion with my body!
