Ok ladies, i am a serious long distance runner (and triathlete), getting overs with Adamo on 13th June. He says i can return to running, if i feel up to it, after 3 weeks but wanted to see how you all got on with running after your ops. I am really scared because running is the love of my life (don’t tell my fiance!) and i am dreading finding it painful. Also, anyone recommend a really good sports bra for high impact stuff. Currently my little A sized boobs don’t give me too much trouble but reckon my new potential C cup boobies will need some more help! Thanks x

I do a lot of sprinting and running sometimes. My surgeon will probably not let me do this before 8 weeks post op. I am allowed to ride a bike 3 weeks post op. I am 8 days PO and don’t feel like anything at all so far. Of course I miss sports and scared of not working out so long but right now I am way to tender and would be painful. Should be much better in 2 weeks though.

Hi dirtyharri, I’m in a similar boat, I am a semi professional dressage rider, I ride at least 3 horses every morning. I really don’t think I will be able to stay away for 6 weeks!!!

Shock absorbers are amazing, they literally do not move in one of those x

3 weeks sounds too early, your blood pressure can still be high at 3 weeks PO and you could cause internal damage without realising it, I’d at least wait til you know how your incisions are doing as well, you don’t want to put any pressure on them if they are still tender.

I’m obsessed with the gym and pre-op it was my biggest worry not being able to go :-( x

I run 4 times a week and have been advised by my surgeon to wait at least 6 weeks before I start back. Have a lateral thigh trainer that I will start with after my 2 week check aslong as all healing ok, just works lower body and stomach which is my main area of concern at mo

Thanks everyone! I am freaking out about missing my daily fix but appreciate that I have to rest properly so I can fully recover. Will no doubt be calling on you all for support after my op on 13th! xx

They do different ones, I’ve just got a classic one I think, I just looked tho and realised its a whole size too small…no wonder they don’t move in it haha.

On the website they’ve got one called ‘ultimate run bra’ x
