    Hi girls,

    My surgery date is June 6th, I will be 8 weeks PO when I go away on holidays.

    I love going to the gym, I go almost nearly everyday. I’ve stuck to it since January to get a nice belly for holidays.

    Only problem is, I’ve heard you can’t exercise for 6 weeks after op? :( I don’t wanna stop exercising and 2 weeks before I go is hardly gonna help me. I just wanna toned belly for hols!

    Any advise girls?

    Some girls have gone back after three/four weeks but make sure you are ready. It’s seriously not worth putting yourself through strenuous exercise which could risk you doing something harmful to your new additions! I’m just over four weeks post-op and have been to the gym a couple of times but woke up the next day feeling quite tight and achy. I used to go every other day and run on the other days so it has been hard but I keep telling myself it’ll be worth it in the end, and I can exercise all I want when I’m fully healed! It’s really up to you and how your feeling though! You will be able to tell if you’ve done too much. Four/five weeks won’t make a huge difference to your shape anyway! I put on a few pounds initially but have lost that now and haven’t really done a lot of exercise.

    i to am a gym bunny hun, my recommendation is (this is what i did) active from day one lots of walks, then at 3 weeks i started using my stepper for 30 min twice a day, at 4 weeks i went back to the gym and have worked myself up slowely to how i was training pre opp, just take your time and listen to you body, my bf told the nurse i went back to the gym at 4 weeks (could have kiiled him lol) but she said each person heals diffrent, i expplained it felt right for me and she was fine with it xx

    Thanks girls! I’ll start walking on the treadmill for a couple of weeks! Then slowly build myself up :) xxx

    Hi brunettebarbie. You can’t do any strenuous exercise and u won’t be able to do sit ups or anything like that, but you can do power walking which is what I have done, when u walk hold ur stomach in at the same time and it works the same muscles. If u watch what u eat aswell it’s almost as good as the gym. Be prepared for some bloating after ur op, but that’s just the anesthetic and does wear off after about 2 weeks. Xxx
