can i still have my op if im on my period??

Not sure whether i should tell them im bleedin or not! Im not heavy or even bleedin constantly! Infact its that light that i cud get away without wearing a tampon on day of surgery!! What do u guys think?? Has this ever happened to anyone? Just typical to happen to me lol xx

yeah ur fine to still have ur opp. i think they ask u to wear a pad tho not tampons x

Lots of us on the forum asked the same questions, its fine to have a period on op day, (I did) The nurses are absolutely fine. They just tell you to wear a pad for the op x

Make sure you take your own pad though! I ended up with a hospital issued one which weighed down my paper knick knacks! Ooooo it was traumatic! Then when I came round from the op she told me to shuffle up the bed so as not to hurt my new assets and as I shuffled up, my knickers and pad shuffled down ha ha!! It was sooooo embarrassing! I was vomiting, room spinning and flashing lights – the lot….but I kid you not I was up and tampon was in before you could say BOOBIES ha ha!! xx
