Can you fly a week post-op?! HELP :(

Hi Girlies!

I want to get a breast enlargement early June as I get a week off work for Whitsun to recover.

But my parents want to book a holiday to Cyprus the week after!

Could I still go if I will only be a week post-op!?

Strictly speaking no, as you are at a high risk of developing a DVT/blood clot if you fly so soon after your BA. The information pack that the nurse gave me before my op stated that you can’t fly short haul for 3 weeks and long haul for 6 weeks…Can’t you move it to an earlier date? xx

The problem is, I work as a admin in a factory which has shut-downs -(which means the whole factory shuts-down).

I have to take the shut-downs off work so I only get 8 floater holidays for the whole year to take when I like.

I get a week off for Whitsun, 2 weeks off in the summer and a week off for xmas.

I’m also on holidays in my 2 week summer shut-down so the only time of the year I could have them done is just before my Whitsun shut-down so I then have that week off to recover.

if im honest i dont think u will wanna go on holiday one week after ba lol id just take the time off to recover as much as u can, i found it tiring walking around at 1 week an no way would i of been able to fly an go on holiday but obv everyones different but dont think ur meant to that soon xx

It would be a no. Also I wouldn’t have wanted to go away one week post op either. I’ve had no pain but after a week you feel your incisions more and are generally tired and need to recover x

Like Dolly said the risk of DVT ect needs to be taken into consideration.

I’m 6days PO n still a bit swollen n feelin uncomfortable I’m half way through my first shift back at wrk coz they wer dicks n wudnt let me take any more time off all I do is admin wrk n I dnt feel like I should be back yet I’ve no pain but feel bait uncomfy n yeah I’m noticing my incisions are there trust me Huni the last thing I’d wanna do right now is sit ona plane all Sqashed listening to someone elses kid screamin n then sit sweatin my tits off by a pool that I can’t go in to cool off think off the increased risk to Infection Hun I really don’t think any surgeon wud advise it xx

I’m flying in and out for my op…they said I’d need to wait for 2 weeks before flying short haul. They insisted that I shouldn’t fly before this x
