Cancelled ops!!!

I really can’t understand all these ops being cancelled as little as a day before and think its really unfair for all the girls it’s happening to, after the money we pay and the time some of us wait for our surgery I think it’s really bad that they keep doin this with no proper explanation as to why and with no compensation for the ones that have to change travel/work/child arrangements!

I think in this kind of situation, when a surgeon has been suspended, they really cant say why.

yeah but whys he been suspended on the internet ive read his license was ‘deceased’ so expired on 31st dec a dont get it i think ill ring tomo x

I don’t understand this as I had my surgery with Russo 3weeks ago and I phoned the GMC before booking and asked if there was any complaints ar anything against Mr Russo and I was told there was absolutly nothing against his name and he was completly safe to practice! Buut MYAs annoncment says he’s been suspended due to a matter dating back to before he started with them? Lauraxsx and emilyjones123 iv added you, xx

i think MYA have let everyone know as soon as they could as by the sounds of it this has only been a recent thing (maybe from yesterday) which is why he has been operating in the last 3 weeks. x

Well that’s the thing I did call the GMC before booking him (I would have for any surgeon, just to check) and I was told that he was completely safe to operate? That would of only been about 2months ago but MYA says it was a matter from before he started with them.. They can’t both be right tbh I’m a lil worried now but at same time I love my boobs they are so perfect!! Hope ur feeling ok Dolcie Xx

I had mine done on Monday with him. I’m gutted I won’t get a check up with him coz didnt see him after my op either but at the same time I feel lucky I got my op in with him in the first place, my heart goes out to poor ladies who’re having their ops cancelled/surgeons changed.

I’m sure none of the issues are surrounding his work/ability x

I think that as soon as the issue around him came to light the gmc had taken action, with immediate effect. The issue predates him joining MYA, but the complaint that’s been made is recent, so that’s why no-one knew and everything has been last minute. Just to warn you tho that any speculation will result in your post being deleted!!!

Aw thankyou! Nah I’m not worried anything will all of a sudden go wrong with my boobs, was just a shock reading your surgeons been suspended.. I’m so glad u said that haha I’m gutted I won’t get to see him again either but yea I feel really lucky to of had him, he is truelly amazing! – do feel so sorry for all the girls been cancelled on and pushed to a new surgeon last min!! Can’t imagin how they feel hopefully they all get sorted!… How are you healing? Xx

The announcement was only put up yesterday around 3 o clock, so i can imagine mya are probably run ragged trying to contact everyone.

Be patient, you’ll get a phone call or just call your PC’s

I’m healing really well thanks chick, no pain today, just my incisions are itching like crazy (hopefully that’s a good sign of healing anyway)

im still fuming. looked in my holiday book at work and if i dont get my op in 4 weeks like i was scheduled to and payed all my money for then i wont be able to have it til mid november as its the only 2 week slot. fuck that x

Still waiting and I had to contact them this morning arrhghhhhhhh so gutted I won’t be getting him I was so excited now I don’t know what to do and I really hope all you ladies as myself get sorted it’s a absolute shame… I don’t know bout any of the other surgeons either , I want my deposit back before I make my mind up X

My opinion:

He has been suspended by the GMC – obviously he cannot continue to practice whilst an investigation is on going. Whatever the reason of his suspension is nothing to do with any of us.

MYA are protecting all you ladies whilst the investigation is on going and are trying to offer you all alternatives. Theres no point speculating and theres no point getting annoyed – get your op’s done by another surgeon.

Everyone getting heated n angry in not going to resolve anything – personally i’d get my mioney back or see another surgeon. This is a situation that is unavoidable xx sorry if its harsh but its reality

This situation isn’t MYA’s fault.

It is to do with the girls that have JUST had surgery with him! How can u say its nothing to do with us? For all we know he’s been suspended for something dangerous.. I personally think he’s amazing and can’t see y he’s bein investigated but I do believe we have a right to know if its anything that could affect of health or healing.

Nobody will ever know why, unless it comes out on the news or something which is unlikely.

MANY girls on this forum have had surgery with mario and no complaints.

If you’re worried ring your pc.

If it was anything to do with his work and if anyone was in any danger they would be sorting this out, there is clearly an issue which dates back some time and if the gmc have seen it serious enough to suspend him then MYA have to work around this. Theres nothing in the post to suggest it is something dangerous. Ultimately it’s a confidential enquiry between the gmc and the surgeon. Unfortunately a lot of ops are having to be rescheduled and MYA are trying their hardest to fix this, there are a lot of other great surgeons out there to choose from, an anyone who’s already had their op with him should not worry as there is no questions over his work, a lot of girls here will testify to that

I’m not worried I love my boobs, would be nice to know but I’m not atall angry or stressed to find out. All I said is I personally rang the GMC before my op and was told go ahead so don’t know y if there was a previous problem with him I wasn’t told? I don’t regret using Mr Russo atall and I’d use him again (if he can operate again after this) xx

erm hang on a minute all those saying there no point getting disapointed.. are you mad? its not the fact of having it done by a different surgeon that doesnt bother me, its about being able to get it done with the time iv already booked off work and childcare!!!!!

Barbieprincess, I’m sure the gmc wouldn’t have known at the time you spoke to them, like someone mentioned above, they’ve prob had the complaint and dealt with it straight away as its come to light, I’m sure they wouldn’t withhold info like that.

Staceyannne, have they not been able to keep your op date for you? With cancellations I think that people forget that all the planning around the op takes so much time and effort and money, I hope you manage to get something that works around you. I was v tight with times for my op and if I’d had mine cancelled I wouldn’t have been able to have the op for another year! Have you been offered a new surgeon yet?

no, mr traynor is 5 days later but then i wnt have enough recovery time to go back to work! ‘( i hear bk today for definite if i can have someone else around that date, literally can only go one day either side because im having unders so need more time to recover x

For all the girls that have had he op already I wouldn’t worry too much as for the girls that were due I feel so sorry for you all, I can’t imagine what I’d feel like if it happened to me at such short notice but I’d be absolutely gutted!

Mya are naughty for taking payments and giving girls admission times though when they clearly know its not possible for mario to perform surgeries and for that I think people are owed a real explanation as to what’s going on. I’m having mr traynor and personally I don’t think I’d want to change him unless it was absolutely necessary and I had enough time to think about and research my new surgeon where as some girls are getting a few days to do this which is resulting in no surgery and it’s not on.

Come one mya get yourself sorted and help all these girls out and all the girls waitin and not knowing I hope you all get sorted very soon X

it must be really stressful for you girls who’ve booked your op and have to reschedule…especially if you work/have kids etc. Finding two weeks of the year where you don’t have to do anything, not even walk the dog, isn’t easy! I also feel bad for Mr Russo…I’m a health care worker and know that in the medical world, people are immediately suspended in response to any complaint, with evidence or not (I know someone who was suspended because they accepted a cup of tea from someone on a home visit, and then the person accused them of stealing!) He’s not my surgeon, but it’s a shame because he seemed to be very highly rated. Hopefully you’ll be sorted out with another surgeon sharpish. Good lucks ladies, fingers crossed for you x

woohoooooo … my pc’s rebooked me now for 4th july (5days later than original date) with mr traynor! will get travel and hotel added in. got to have a consultation with him next tuesday so i can sleep easier tonight now lol

Glad your sorted Stacey, mr traynor is lovely, very blunt n straight to the point but still really nice with it. He might offer you overs instead of unders and your recovery won’t be as long X

Wot we all need to understand is:

Whatever the allegation made it is now down to the GMC to investigate and take appropriate action. Whilst he is on suspension MYA are protecting you all and thats wot really does matter. I hope you get your ops sorted out, as MYA offer other fantastic surgeons and hope u all get the dates u wanted and the boobs u want.
