Wanted them pinned back when I was little, being bullied and called big ears or dumbo didnt help. I think being given a present at Christmas by the coach driver which was an elephant with big ears probably pushed it a little too far.

I was deaf when I born and didn’t start talking till I was about 5 or 7 and had to go to a speech therapist. I should have had them done when I had the chance when I was younger but I was stubborn, said it didn’t affect me that much as I wanted to try and prove something.

But i’m now in my 30’s and still not happy.. cant get hair cut too short, change styles etc, lack of confidence etc

Was initially hoping id be able to get them done via Bupa, but they said no, so have to pay myself unless the NHS will make an exemption to my age.
